I have watched a few video's but, still don't understand the full concept of doing this. I plan to don't get me wrong. but i would love to know the benefits and how long am I suppose to keep it tied down? am i supposed to look for specific things ( if I'm doing it right or wrong). most videos just show them doin it with no real explanation.

Hey @trini trees, check the "Shed's" links in my signature. I found those tutorials and rerigged my crop. Should get ya well on your way! :goodluck:

there are dedicated ongoing threads and discussion groups on quad lining, scrog, lst and other training methods on the board. just poke around and use the search function.

i tie my gals up and they love it like well placed thin strips of leather ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

dude ... we do have it all here. it's nice that there are other decent sources out there. but please stop sending everyone off the board every post ... K ?

@Konks Dirt Empire so once i tie down the mainstem I don't release till it time to harvest?
I like to think there needs to be some wiggle room to get a feel for your plant, essentially yes tie down the mainstem.

I dont think it is complicated or set in stone after doing it this grow lol. I really worked mine almost daily until they took off at "the stretch" and then it was almost impossible to keep up. They are growing stronger too and at a point they just sort of hold their position and your focus shifts to high alert for mold and other fall elements outdoors. I noticed the growth was pulling my clips with it.

I did ask in that thread when the humidity was almost unbareable what was next...it was just keep an eye on them.

There are journals on here of perfection, fails and everything in between. Go for it! Personally, for me, it's the patience to fight flippin' aphids and rain without throwing myself on the ground like a 3 year old

My knee jerk place to start would be the light, and I mean search from scratch because I know next to nothing about indoor lighting. I am pretty sure you can turn it around (and positive I would try at all costs to) unless that is 4 weeks on an auto. In that case I would find an auto journal. I think if autos stall you are less likely to correct them before they flip.

Skim the best way to form your question to get the most feedback from the members, then drop your concern in the frequently asked questions section.

Someone has had a 4 week seedling they worried about! :goodluck:

Hey Trini,

Actually... I’ve never asked cuz it’s not polite and I just recently interacted for the first time but I think Konks is a sister if I’m not too far off base.... but regardless Konk’s is a wiz in the garden or there would be no dirt empire!

That may be a stunted auto... also looks like too much water...and maybe not enough aeration in that soil mix. If an auto gets stunted (which it’s easy to do) yields will be tiny. I just took a 9 week auto AK Purps that yielded 1.5 grams. Keep it alive but I think the fat lady has already sang on that one but I’d be ready to drop another bean soon too.

is that an auto?

We are all cultivators and I don't like getting bogged down in semantics. ;)
My most favourite is this, though
You’re a harsh Emperial Mistress, Konk!

You can look at the "about" feature in someone's profile and it may say, or it matters less since we are all growin'

IDK cus it was givn to me. the one in the smaller cup is hollands hope fem

Apologies...was midway thru wake & bake but not really present yet, maybe I should have left that stone unturned or chosen more wisely. I do it too and revert to the thanks bro never intending to slight or whatever. Humbly... open mouth insert foot - unwashed I might add!!

Really I had no idea you could see others profiles... tell me how please?

trini I’m going to throw a dart at that being the case... if this plant ever does grow up.... please stop by and tell me I was totally wrong and I will be cool with another slice of humble pie but yes I think it’s a permanently stunted auto. Keep it alive if you can - you will benefit from experience but I’d be looking for another bean to drop.

well now the bottom leaves are turning yellow. I lowered the light to about 35 inch's

Tell me about your water, when do you water? What criteria do you use to determine they need water? Or to put it another way - how often do you water? Is it tap water?

The reason I ask is the plant appears to be overwatered and stunted. If you are watering every day or every other day, I strongly suspect this is the problem. The one in the grow bag appears to be classic case of overwatering meaning too much water at one time and watered too often.

The other plant in the inverted cut-off plastic jug...... are there holes cut or drilled for drainage? It looks ok but since the bottle is supported by another plastic bottle or jug I suspect there is not much air flow to the roots.

hiya trini - have go through this before posting

start a grow journal as well - you can post what's going on and get some feedback as you go.

you have a few things going on that should be corrected, and we have no idea of what your set up / nutes / light / feed schedule / etc / etc is. before that is understood no one can properly give you an answer.

for starters i'd get that plant outta that clear cup before it's had it. never, ever start a plant in a clear cup, autos in particular react very badly.

i use tap water...i feed according to the weight of the bag ( if its light i water)....the plastic cup has good drainage and air flow but @bluter just wrote that clear cups are a bad idea. as i will change that today.

Goin foward i will start a journal of exactly what im doin to get better help from you guys. more output better input ...

thx you my peeps
