Lowest possible temperature at which MJ can survive in flowering?

There are ways to protect your plants from cold like wrapping fleece/cloth around the stem, packing dry leaves or hay at the base, covering the plant with mini-grenhouse and so forth. I grow outdoor too, but my temperatures will drop critically in December and I harvest my sativas in two weeks or so. How far north are you in terms of latitude?

north italy (:

Me too :) Below 800 metres or in the mountains?

So don't worry, you're gonna have a first frost around December. Even with pure sativa you should be quite all right. Bigger danger in our part of the world now is humidity. The rain is coming NeXT week, so be sure to spray for mold.

Ok, so I believe that if the genetics are right you won't have to worry, however you don't know how well your strain is gonna respond to high humidity if you're growing it for the first time. What is it actually? There are bacterias, which protect the plants by dropping PH and creating an enviroment in which it's hard for the mold to thrive. They are: bacillus subtilis (sold in USA under commercial name, but don't know about Europe) and lactobacillus acidophilus. I'm using the other one with good results so far as I saved one of my plants (shitty pheno I need to say) from mold, but as I am DIY kind of guy I colonised it myself. Just Google these two and check if someone stocks them in concentrate or in spray in UE.

oh ok, i'll see if i can get my hands on those. the strain is barney's farm lsd (2 plants) and pre bubba bx2 (1 plant) btw (:

Man, they are both heavily on indica side and should be done by now, it's 3rd week of October and my sativa dominant strains are getting ready, so I'd advise to check the trichomes!

will do bro, thanks, it's just that the buds are small so i thought they cant be done yet... today im going to give them their last tea, then i have to flush and water with water only for 1 week right?

oh and, the other 2 plants are behind because they were planted late, so what i said above is only for the first plant (the second has less mold btw, and the third has none at all)
also the flowering time it says 60-65, but only about 49 have passed?
also is it possible to check the trichomes with just my eyes? :P

First things first. Outdoor is different than indoor, day count is tricky for outdoor, cause mother nature works in a chaotic way - we do not have a stable photoperiod 12/12 as day shortens after 21.09 and that speeds up the flowering. Rainy, dark week can speed it up even more, especially if plant is temperature sensitive. To check trichs you need a magnifying glass, but some pics would help to tell. If you got mold, you need to chop off the infected bud without shsking the spores on the rest of the plant, rub some alcohol and hope for the best if you don't have any anti-fungal spray.

hey, i harvested half of the plant today because the mold was taking over, its unflushed, i can make oil with it right?

oil, butter, edibles of many sorts and many other things... just because it is not flushed does not mean it will not be smokeable

You can still clean it and enjoy it after a good curing.
For NeXT season remember to put out mold resistant strains, which finish either by 1st week of October if they're on indica side (rains in the north of Italy usually come then) or by middle November, beginning of December (longer flowering should prevent mold). Personally, I think you let them go for TOO LONG and the buds are small, cause you started them too late in the season. Try end of May NeXT time or even April.

Aaah, all these new skunks like your LSD are indoor bred and they won't be good choice for outdoor in our climate. If you want a good shit: try old school lines like The Shit from Mr. Nice or The Pure from Flying Dutchman!

Bud rot has not spared any strain in this area this year. I have heard from folks far and wide. My sativa girl that is still out has a lot of bud rot. I am taking her slowly as I see rot I take the branch cut out all the rot (I make sure there is none left) If there is a smokable bud I will trim and hang, the rest is made into bubble or tincture. It is not ready she has not developed flavor or potency so out she stays. It will get into the 30's at night and maybe reach 60's during the day. What is left of a hash bud plant has gone purple ans will all be made into bubble

I'm sorry to hear that, man. My Kerala Krush (87% sativa) got mold too, but I fought it off. No signs of mold on my Tangerine Dream though, most likely to Neville's Haze genes. My temps are between 62-68F during a day and 51-56F during the night, but humidity can reach 98%! I hope to go one week or two and then chop. Are you in NorCali?

hmm, it feels like all my bud hairs have mold inside them... they have a weird color, and the smell feels different too... i cleaned the mold off, but even on healthy buds the hairs still feel like the mold inside the stem went inside them too... idk is that possible? ill post some pics when im done cleaning if i need to

Cut them all in two, that's my advice!
