Lost In The Fog

We would have a fine time in a shop CraZ!

I have no doubt in that! :)

Has gorilla tape made it to your world?
That right there is amazing stuff... Between that and the roll of industrial strength foil backed duct repair tape that I keep on hand, I can repair anything!

Yeah we got it as well but as usually its way over priced. Held a roll in my hand yesterday and it costs as much as the aluminum one and I must say I love that one more. The thing that makes GG-tape great is also its Akiles heal, It's hard getting it of the things that it puts together. Regular duct tape is easy to peel off and the pieces can easily be reused another time. Most of my ducting parts have been used at least in 3-4 other builds before this one and hopefully in more. Love up-cycling stuff.

This doesn't mean i don't like the GG-tape, think I have 10 different tapes as it is. :laughtwo:

Couldn't help myself. They were cute as eff.

Lol Kismet. Watch out for burns!

I was only pulling your leg about that Zombie one, I think this naming game of strains has got out of hands. Why can't they use names with more history to them, like me.... ;) Posseidon, Ikaros..... :laughtwo:
:blunt:

This is version one of Ace Venturi pipe to ventilate Ikaros ducting to main flow from scrubber. I saved this "lip" or baffel inside the main pipe. It feels like it should enhance the "sucking" from the venturi effect, but I'm maybe out riding a bike here. If any JPL's read this they might give me a pointer? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Will try this new madness out tomorrow... this is the final piece before Ikaros. :goodluck:

It was actually a nick name of the breeder/grower. They called her Zombie Death Fuck.

Lol, sounds like a fresh dame.

Builds on hold today, I had to change to winter tires on my car today. I was actually planning this for yesterday but as usually something needs to f-ck up my plans. But now they are on the car, first time since my accident I can actually do this. But I feel the pain coming now, time for a spliff, coffee oil, hot bath and plant care to night.

Venturi pipe is now in place between the filter/fan box and the silencer.

The Ikaros fitting is plugged for the moment, I did not get any suction in the Ikaros fitting on the pipe as I was expecting. I feel a small blowing flow and I guess the dimensions on the pipes don't give the effect its suppose to, If looking at water based suction dredges the "force" injecting pipe in such nozzles are much smaller than the main suction pipe to produce pull in the other end. BUT the blow is not that strong so I think Ikaros fan will be able to push through it. If there will be any performance issues with Ikaros I will scrap the venturi pipe and make separate plumbing for Ikaros.

Don't know if I will go more further with this today yet. I'm a little upset over some other things going down right now so we will see how far I get with it today. Ikaros have some work left before its ready for installation.
Crazy out! :blunt:

Where's Wernher von Braun when you need him...

yeah... would be nice to access all brightest minds when in need of them, this might even get real someday... Scary. :smokin2:

I think I did see one of those on the space station... :ganjamon:

Lol it might sit one there. Better pray I wont end up there, then things might start falling down through the sky. :laughtwo:

You're not wrong. Here's an early prototype flown up in the Shuttle and installed on Mir. If you follow the feed, extract and venturi ducts, it'll lead you to CraZy's secret den where he was performing "micro-G botanical experiments" (the pictures of the colas that developed in weightlessness are still classified to this day - humanity is not ready for that yet...)

Nothing like new shoes for winter.

I think to increase the draw on the Venturi you would need to increase the air speed without increasing the static pressure. But as you noted Ikaros should provide enough positive pressure to make it work.

I must have missed it. Why aren't you plumbing Ikaros upstream of the fan?

LMAO! I need these kind of humor when I get up from the bed. Classified and humanity is not ready.

Btw, love the tiny red chairs under all that rubble. Is it possible to get one down from there in one piece? :smokin2:

That's the problem with increased speed comes higher pressure if I'm not changing the diameter of the main pipe. That's how it works in my brain but it's all been built with me working with water, but pressurized air and water should behave in the same way in a pipe right?

I have space for another hose on the new filter box but I want to keep these flows separate, my hope is to turn down the scrubber fan even more when Ikaros fan is running and I have these separate flows. The idea is to make a nice biosphere for the plants without sucking out all their air and renewing it every 5min like I do now for heat management. In next step I will reintroduce the Co2 and will be able to keep that with the plants and not sucking it out just to cool the grow. Make any sense?
