Do any of use additional red led's in flower to help with those nugs on the lower branches? Looking for a good red bloom boaster strip or possible cob setup. Anyone use this with any success yet?

Its the balance of the light spectrum which is most important. Red LED satellite pods have not been used for many years as they were only initially used with the 1st and 2nd generation weak LED 1 watt or less LED lights which did not grow well. The majority of LED grow lights made for several years have learned not to use the cheapest Light Emitting diodes available. Please see the 420 Magazine Sponsors and 420 Sponsors. Many of the 420 Magazine Sponsor LED grow light company's produce products which work well.

I have personally used several brands of the 420 Magazine Sponsors LED grow lights in my sponsored completed Grow Journals.

they won't help on the lower. red just doesn't have the penetration. what they will do is increase overall trichome production. they won't make lower stuff bigger. just better if you follow.

yes.

i built cob and sold units with added 5050 smd rails for a few yrs. there are better smd options. i use them for ramp up / down dawn / sunset lights. the main starts an hour after and ends an hour previous in the light sched. cobs do the main lifting.

the 5050s extend the day schedule with directed spectrum super cheaply.

that's the veg rig.

cobs and smds run on separate schedules. the smds run for the first and last hour of the day cycle.

the cobs do the main lifting. on 18/6 the cobs run 16 hrs and the leds 2hrs. the smds hit target spectrum and extend the day cycle for pennies a grow. the plants get enough ppfd on the cobs alone.

i've got straight reds for the flower rig but have never installed them. i will get to it at some point. the flower rig is 3 times the size.

i'll get the reds on the flower rig at some point. i really wanna see what they could do. i might just upgrade it and give it away to a friend who needs a rig. i was gifted a @NextLight through the board i'd like to move to.

but that's how you do it. i use separate drivers for the 5050's and the cobs and run them on separate timers. painfully easy to set up once the timers are close to sync,

i've built other flower rigs with red rails, and have a 4-pot exactly like the veg rig pictured set up as dedicated flower rig. was built for a client who puckered. it's never been run.

edit : the client who puckered went with a shitty rig and over paid. it under performed so he rolled back to hps and sucks those bills and whines lol :p
