Looking for list of doctors who prescribe Medical Marijuana

Wingman,

While I appreciate your comments as they were obviously out of brotherly love, I must point out I am not attempting to do anything that is outside of the law, current of future. I have been advised by our legal department that what I have offered here is acceptable.

Drumming up business? Yes! If I can be the first to help Illinois residents in need, that would be awesome. My non for profit Medical Cannabis Organization will be there for those in need. Patients will also have the option to pick any MCO or caregiver they wish as the doctor is not employed by me or anyone in any organization that I am affiliated with. This doctor will need medical records from patients prior to seeing them. This will in no way guarantee a recommendation for Medical Cannabis.

Thank you Wingman for the opportunity to clarify my intentions.

Hey, I am 59/male/Northwest Oregon.

I'm looking for a licensed State of Oregon doctor who prescribes medical marijuana and is accepting new patients. I have been recently diagnosed with degenerative arthrihis in my lower neck and back, with constant pain caused by an implanted "Harrison Bar" at vetebrate L3, after a vehicle accident in 1997. I self-medicate my perception, mood and pain with marijuana. Please help me locate a doctor. :peace:

Hey, I'm new on here. I have Fibromyalgia, PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. Right now I am self medicating with illegal cannabis, but I'm tired of having to make sketchy deals with drug dealers who skimp the shit outta me. I live in New Jersey, and the fact that Christie is barely doing anything about medical marijuana in our state just kills me.

Since I've started smoking I've had less urges to commit suicide, less self injury, less chronic pain, I am now able to eat without being nauseous, my body temp. is regulated, I sleep well at night, and I'm more able to work through the traumas I've gone through in my life. Hell, I think if I keep smoking everyday, maybe my Fibromyalgia will be gone by the time I'm out of college!

Anyway, I saw this post and I thought I'd come on here and ask: Where can I find a doctor who would be willing to prescribe marijuana? I've heard about Dr.s in NJ who will prescribe cannabis even though it's not completely legal yet. My friend told me about a Dr. who gave her mom cannabis in NJ like 20 years ago! I know it's very underground right now, but there are doctors who are prescribing cannabis to patients in New Jersey. I just need help finding these doctors.

Another problem is that many people, and doctors, think that Fibromyalgia isn't real. I can sure as hell tell all of you...the chronic pain, the nausea, the body temp changes, the sensitivity to light, sound, touch, smell, taste, etc. All of that is REAL and painful.

The only thing that has ever really helped, has been cannabis. When I move out of my mom's house I plan to go straight to California to get my mmj card.

So...anyone know of ANYWHERE I could obtain marijuana legally while still living in NJ?

New Jersey has passed a compassionate use act and fortunately for you Fibromyalgia is specifically listed as one of the few ailments where they allow you to go through the qualification process.

This site has specific advice for New Jersey residents about how to find a doctor

it's now about the 1st of june 2012 i am an illinois resident with hep c. what is the outlook on med. mj being passed here in the near future?

Hi, I am new to this forum and noticed you have similar problems to mine. I was treated for Hodgkin's disease back in 1982, and my spleen was removed at the same time, as part of the treatment. I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia and other forms of arthritis, have had lower back surgery, and continue to suffer from chronic pain and catch every virus since my immune system has been limited. I was on 90mg of morphine twice a day and numerous muscle relaxants, as my oxygen levels were low. In the beginning of April, I was in a nasty state. My doctors refused to up the morphine, but it no longer was working. I couldn't stand for more than a couple minutes before I'd get hit with debilitating pain that would always require me to sit right back down, so that simple food preparation was becoming a big problem! I was also sent to a pulmonary doctor only to find out my lungs were not working, correctly, and my oxygen levels were very low. So, basically, I felt like I was just sitting, waiting to die, when I decided that the morphine must be stifling my oxygen levels and I decided to follow my cardiologists' suggestion to look into cannabis use.

As soon as I started cannabis treatment, I had an immediate increase to high normal oxygen levels! All my muscle cramping immediately stopped and so did my anxiety problems! I was able to discontinue 3 prescription drugs, and I am currently tapering all morphine! It feels nothing short of a miracle. I am also using the cream to help get rid of myofascial pain in my shoulder. I am very interested in communicating with anyone else that is being helped with the aid of cannabis. I am not a smoker; I use capsules.

Oregon allows nonresident to hold medical marijuana cards. I do believe there is one other state that allows a nonresident as well but I can't remember which one. Colorado makes you have a state ID & you have to show utility bill (or something similar) to get a ID. Hope this helps-

thank you, thats very cool of oregon.
i was hoping the same would be true of michigan, as they are a neighboring state to ill.
from what i understand ill. is close to approval, however we will have to wait till nov. for the vote to come back up.
too bad i cant just turn off my illness's to wait for the political masterminds to wake up.
currently the doctors have my on a host of other drugs, including METHADONE for pain, and i just hate how the narcotics make me feel.
as a result i'm forced to get the meds that really do help on the black market, putting myself and my family at risk of felony charges and for goodness sake i just cant bear the thought of loosing my freedom AGAIN as well as everything my family and i own.

This was a good read hope it helps all who live in states not legalized as of 2012

SUMMARY: Fifty-five percent of voters approved Measure 67 on November 3, 1998. The law took effect on December 3, 1998. It removes state-level criminal penalties on the use, possession and cultivation of marijuana by patients who possess a signed recommendation from their physician stating that marijuana "may mitigate" his or her debilitating symptoms. Patients diagnosed with the following illnesses are afforded legal protection under this act: cachexia; cancer; chronic pain; epilepsy and other disorders characterized by seizures; glaucoma; HIV or AIDS; multiple sclerosis and other disorders characterized by muscle spasticity; and nausea. Other conditions are subject to approval by the Health Division of the Oregon Department of Human Resources. Patients (or their primary caregivers) may legally possess no more than three ounces of usable marijuana, and may cultivate no more than seven marijuana plants, of which no more than three may be mature. The law establishes a confidential state-run patient registry that issues identification cards to qualifying patients. Patients who do not join the registry or possess greater amounts of marijuana than allowed by law may argue the "affirmative defense of medical necessity" if they are arrested on marijuana charges.

The Oregon law does not include a reciprocity provision. However, the Oregon Court of Appeals has ruled (and the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program has confirmed) that patients from out of state are permitted to register with the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program to obtain a registry identification card, the same as an Oregon resident, which will protect them from arrest or prosecution while in Oregon. These out of state patients are required to obtain a recommendation for the medical use of marijuana from an Oregon licensed physician. State v. Berringer, 229 P3d 615 (2010).

AMENDMENTS: Yes.

House Bill 3052, which took effect on July 21, 1999, mandates that patients (or their caregivers) may only cultivate marijuana in one location, and requires that patients must be diagnosed by their physicians at least 12 months prior to an arrest in order to present an "affirmative defense." This bill also states that law enforcement officials who seize marijuana from a patient pending trial do not have to keep those plants alive. Last year the Oregon Board of Health approved agitation due to Alzheimer’s disease to the list of debilitating conditions qualifying for legal protection.

In August 2001, program administrators filed established temporary procedures further defining the relationship between physicians and patients. The new rule defines attending physician as "a physician who has established a physician/patient relationship with the patient; … is primarily responsible for the care and treatment of the patients; … has reviewed a patient’s medical records at the patient’s request, has conducted a thorough physical examination of the patient, has provided a treatment plan and/or follow-up care, and has documented these activities in a patient file."

Also, Senate Bill 1085, which took effect on January 1, 2006, raises the quantity of cannabis that authorized patients may possess from seven plants (with no more than three mature) and three ounces of cannabis to six mature cannabis plants, 18 immature seedlings, and 24 ounces of usable cannabis. However, those state-qualified patients who possess cannabis in amounts exceeding the new state guidelines will no longer retain the ability to argue an "affirmative defense" of medical necessity at trial. Patients who fail to register with the state, but who possess medical cannabis in amounts compliant with state law, still retain the ability to raise an "affirmative defense" at trial.

Other amendments to Oregon's medical marijuana law redefine "mature plants" to include only those cannabis plants that are more than 12 inches in height and diameter, and establish a state-registry for those authorized to produce medical cannabis to qualified patients.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA STATUTES:Oregon Medical Marijuana Act, Or. Rev. Stat. § 475.300 (2007).

CAREGIVERS: Yes. Designated primary caregiver is the person that has significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a person who has been diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition. Primary caregiver does not include the patient’s physician. The caregiver must be 18 years of age or older. A patient may only have one primary caregiver. Or. Rev. Stat. §§ 475.302(5); 475.312(2) (2007).

Oregon Medical Marijuana

I will be looking into this asap and will even talk to my doctor during my next visit Jan 23, 2013

Gives me a little hope as these damn migraines I get sometimes twice a day are ruining my daze.

I got into a serious motor vehicle accident in 2003. Since my mva I have suffered with chronic back pain and aches throughout my back and neck. I had a compressed disc in my back along with 3 broken ribs and whiplash. I asked my gp to fill out my mmar papers. He told me that I needed to get another one of his colleagues to say that we should try Marijuana for the pain. I then went to my specialist and he also said that I could get my gp to fill out the forms. When I asked my gp again to fill out my papers he said that he didn't want to fill them out. He has never filled them out before and there is no medical proof that marijuana helps control the pain. I am looking for anyone that knows of doctors in Lethbridge Alberta and area that will prescribe patients with Marijuana. If you know of anyone let me know........

My advise to you my friend, is obtain Mich. residency and Mich. mmj card. Purchase in Mich. That's what I've been doing.
Illinois, even when they DO get the system up & running it will be so restrictive that people will still get it from the local dealer.
I'll never understand the mindset of the greedy polititions. They create the black market with their rediculas rules.
