LMAO Cloning For Dummies

Is a couple ways to do this without having to really flower those clones you can continue to let them grow their entire time and most strains will show their sex before you go ahead and throw them into flowering another thing you can do is you can wait until they fully root and get a little bit bigger and take a second clone from them and then sex the mini clone while it is rooting that way you are not losing your clone you can just throw away the mini cutting once you know normally at around four to six weeks a female will show her sex with pre flowers and normally the same thing for male but it will show little balls around the stem area

Can I tell from the "parent" plants? I have them, they are 4 months old.

So a clone from a female don't guarantee a female?????
No a clone of male = male, female = female. I was just wondering if I had to flower, either a clone or the parent to tell or if I can tell before they get that far along so I don't continue to feed a male plant and it's clone till I can flower either of them.

So if I wait 7 days after I paint that'll put mom at vegging for about 10 weeks about...is that ok ....I've read were there's all kinds of time frames that people veg hell even like 6 months

You should be just fine begging her for that long before flowering you have enough room most people are worried about how much room they have

If your mother plant is a female the clones have the exact same DNA as the mom. So if your mother plan if a female then your clones are females same thing goes for males. The DNA would be identical.

Yea that's what I always thought but a question was asked about not knowing the sex of a clone without flowering it so was just confused for a min....why would anyone want a male clone out of curiosity

I currently have two clones growing hopefully from a plant that I do not know the sex of at this point. I just figured I would take a shot and hope that they turn out to be females so that I can get a little production from them when the flowering season starts.

Most people who breed like to take clones from a good-looking male plant and then will look for the traits they are after for breeding purposes

I believe that you can freeze pollen for up to a month and it will still be strong and viable and produce seeds on a female. So if I were to ever come across a nice looking male plant and would have females flowering sometime within the next month I would be tempted to try and harvest some of the pollen from that male or even keep him alive but segregated from all the other plants
