I've seen people using domes on them do you think that's beneficial at all
 
It is beneficial but using a 2 liter pop bottle you can build your own Dome and not have to buy one each individual plant will fit inside until it roots the reasoning for the Dome is the fact that clones have no roots they have to feed through their leaves so putting them in a dome recycles water foliar feeding them at the same time will put food in through the leaves and help them store energy introduced roots
 
If you have a TDS meter you can test your water for total dissolved solids this will give you an idea of the nutrients and other things that are in your well water or city water or whatever water you are using TDS total dissolved solids it's the natural nutrients in your water
 
I have had never had to calibrate mine but mine is only a TDS tester does temperature and a few other things I prefer not to use a digital pH meter due to them needing to be calibrated quite often if you drop them they break they're not as reliable as the pH test strips or the drops
