Something I love about this hobby is that it always keeps you thinking. Some might say overthinking things. For me having never grown before I am constantly running into things. Good things, bad things, and everyday things. As we move toward the end of the growing season (outdoors) I have started setting my sights on my goals for this fall and winter. As I've discussed with Imhigh85 quite a number of times I very much want to be independent of the seed houses and produce my own seeds. I am currently working to harvest pollen from two clones of a Wonder Woman male plant that was tall, rich smelling, and packed with pollen sacks and would have knocked everyone up out there. I cut him down last week and buried him in my compost pile. The clones started dropping pollen just yesterday. I have been collecting this and painting it onto the pistils of a very pretty White Widow clone that has young buds on it everywhere. If I am able to figure out this pollen collecting thing I'm seeing that small plant producing a bunch of what should be great seeds. I also have a really interesting White Widow phenotype flowering outside. I have been spraying one of her lower branches with the feminizing spray and spotted a handful of pollen sacks on it yesterday. I will try to collect some of that pollen if possible. But will be happy if the branch pollinates itself and as little else as possible.
This is my first grandchild who has been moved out into the world today. From a feminized seed I harvested from an auto flower plant I sprayed earlier this year.
I'll still piddle around this fall and winter but don't have too much grow space inside.
