Lights getting hot

Hi guys,

As some of you have probably seen I just got a HLG quantum board 135w.
I after been in over night I checked it this morning to find the temp had risen to 36 degree Celsius!
Obviously I was amazed and tried to strategically place my fans point at the driver. The fans have been put on full power.
What else can I do to avoid overheating?

Hi jacare, do you have an extraction fan running taking warm air from near the light and refilling it with cooler air from lower into the tent?

I have a 4 inch extractor fan and carbon filter setup. I've been advised that due to the small size of the grow that I don't need an intake

Keeps us on our toes. What you experimenting with?

Just a freebie I got before. A regular grandaddy purple. It was doing really well but now it's been exposed to some unusual heat so we'll see. Just glad it wasn't something else

Ok so I've got it at a consistent 34 degrees. Also I made a mistake, it was 39 degrees earlier not 36 degrees.
What do we think? Do you guys think a plant can be maintained healthily at 34 degrees Celsius short term until I can get a bigger exhaust?

Also would it be possible to fit some kind of reducer so I can use a 6inch fan with a carbon filter made for a 4inch fan so I don't have to get a new filter?

As long as you make a good seal u can use your 4" carbon filter but it will reduce the amount of air your fan is capable of pulling.

I had a similar problem before i upgraded my fan I switched to a 12-1 cycle in my veg room and it helped to manage my temp. The draw back is it might slow down your growth rate but I think its better than the heat stress.

Thanks for the reply.
Thing is I'm thinking of flipping it to flower this week, so do you think that it will be ok until harvest?
ATM it's running 24/7.
