are dual spectrum hps bulbs any good or should i stick to seperate bulbs for each light spectrum?

also if the dual spectrum isnt as efficient then can you get blue spectrum hps bulbs and red spectrum hps bulbs, or do i need a metal halide for blue and hps for red and can both bulbs be run with the same ballast? thanks

Mix spectrum is best getting close to like the Sun as possible. If you can afford it get the full spectrum bulb in one, if not use one ballast for MH and one for HPS. The blue spectrum increases trichomes development in flowering it has some UV-A and UV-B in them while HPS has very low blue spectrum to have astounding results.

If you are refering to the dual arc bulbs, its my understanding (throught reading, not personal usage) that they are not as intense of a light source...
example, 600w hps obviously gets better penetration than a 400w, so when a 600w bulb is split into 2 300w arcs, the intensity suffers as a result. Although the spectrum would certainly be better!
