Light Addict: LA's Perpetual Garden

Hey folks,
May the virtuous vitality of vertically voluptuous buds be bestowed upon your garden of unrivalled virtuoso inspired spirals of godly green gargantuan buds..

Or best of buds to yašŸ˜

So as I've stuff going on I'm neglecting my girls a bit. All need training up, so some point next few days I'll strap em down properly.
I stripped em back and now we're getting past the over feeding I gave them.
So once trained up things will look lots better than they do in the pics

Have some pics

Weenmeoff love that first pic with the perfect T.

Well folks, seems I forgot that I'd torn down my last wave when I got the police visit. So, I hadn't flushed my medium. Being that I recycle my dirt, means Ive over fed them again lol.

Anyway got round to training them up some. I've still got to drop the level down a couple of inches across all girls (I do this in a couple of waves so I don't risk breaking em) This is just for more space vertically, for better bud development.
I've also topped all ends of the flux arms. On all 3 as we're at the correct length.

All limbs that sit against the sides of the space will also be brought back in slightly to negate bad air flow and possible bud rot as the flowers develop.

Have some pics my peeps šŸ˜

Ok I think Iā€™m starting to get it. Fluxing is simply killing node 1 and spreading node 2 out forever, kill everything else and let the side branching fill it in. That about the size of it? So Iā€™m wondering - do you feel this method beats a scrog for yield? Itā€™s way cool, and Iā€™m also wondering, what advantages does this method have over a scrog or using multiple nodes to achieve the same end shape?

Very interesting. Thanks.

I started out in a small space way back when, (now gone full circle back to small space)
This meant I wanted 360 access to my girls. So a scrog if using a fixed screen or net would make this difficult.
As for yield, I prefer a flux as I can yield very heavily, you have to use a few other of my tricks to maximise it but a flux is almost like an equation. I know roughly how much it will yield before I even hit flower. This is due to each limb being used to grow just 1 colas.
Also due to the topping at each end once you are at size required, it means every single limb has exactly the same girth. Each limb is is at same level. Each limb when mapped out correctly has exactly the same light penetration and air circulation. This means with experience you can judge yield quite closely.
This method can take longer to veg out, yet soon I'll share a tip to cut at least a month from veg times.....
I also prefer the fact it's more involved, more dependent on my input than a scrog.

Hope that helps. If curious check out my quick guide for better understanding and pics that show the original girl in her glory šŸ¤©

Definitely helps, thanks, and I can see some of the differences. My solution to the rotating scrog (I need it due to inability to access all parts of a scrog cuz the wheelchair with a set screen) was/is to create pots that have dedicated and fixed screens on a plant by plant basis. My next grow Iā€™m using hula hoops to make round, rotating screens - a 44ā€ one for the 5x5 and a 34ā€ one for the 3x3. One big plant in each pot. Yes, the downside is that the height of the screen must be determined ahead of time, but thatā€™s really a plus, as it allows for complete control of all scrog activities and is not dependent on the plant. I make the infrastructure then make the plant do what I want within it. Sounds like philosophically speaking youā€™re doing the same with the small space and fluxing. Itā€™s so interesting how everyone has their thing. By far the most fun Iā€™ve ever had learning anything.

Well folks.....
A few days on and we're flying along again.
The feeding issues are falling away as we're finally taking on nutrients.
I went with a nutrient range I've not used before. But one that they gave me ages back. I got the master grower selection. It gives me 20 bottles to play with, all broken down into individual elements. So I can tailor things way better than with usual bottles.

The chest is only 120cm long X 45cm wide X 60cm tall.
With it being summer I'm limited in such a small spot with what light I can run vs temps.
This is the entire light setup for flower phase as well. I'm still planning on pulling 15+oz from it. Fluxing helps me produce in such a tiny spot.
Those two lights must put out more ppfd than they appear they can. I get the space thing. The @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro would fit in there, betcha Valerie would hook you up. Not that you need any assistance/advice from me.

Well, I've had my fill and so has my tiny spot.
I've just lowered all limbs, luckily because of a fluxes structure I can continue to lower all sites as stretch progresses.
A lot of sites are pushing against box sides, I'll simply wait for stretch to almost die away, then tether outward limbs back towards centre. Just to make sure no dead air spots appear and by cause the risk of bud rotting.
Things dependant on stretch will get very interesting. I think I'll have maybe 8 inches for colas development once stretch is done and I've dropped everything as low as I can get.
I've easily got 100 limbs ready to produce 1 colas each.
The bit where my "a flux is like an equation" now comes in. With 8 inches of colas space, also using my tip opening tech to keep internode spacing small, plus my bud-backbuilding tech. I can easily say each site will produce a minimum of a Q. So then times 0.25 by 100. Gives me a baseline yield of 25oz from a very small space.
This is why I flux my friends šŸ¤©

How's it going LA? :ciao:

Another masterpiece in the making I see and in a small chest to boot. Great job as always!:thumb:

Itā€™s an awesome technique. Almost like a one plant SOG. So I am not subject to any space issues - mineā€™s unlimited basically. How much bud could I get from a one plant flux in a 5x5x9 where I donā€™t flip until the tent is covered and every bit of the stretch goes straight up? Iā€™d have many more than 8ā€. Guess I could just do the math proportionally. Answer = ALOT.

Thanks. Great explanation.

But also that has to be weighed against the time spent on training and whether that would offset another whole round or two in the same space with minimal training.
