Let's Find a Mother! Hiking Through a Field of Mary Jane

Thanks JJ :)

Taking a little break from construction. I'm glad my buddy, the mechanical engineer, is here visiting. Had someone to bounce ideas off of. I think it's a great design and should work well. I just finished the floor. The floor framing is done. The 3 panels are cut, and their supports are attached. The seam 'wings' are attached to the fixed side.
Items left todo:
  • cut 8" hole for air inlet
  • vacuum the inside of the floor
  • seal the 2x4 frame against the concrete floor with silicone
  • attach floor to frame
  • attach ducting flange to floor
  • hang fan and filter
  • connect fan and filter to floor
Wow! When I sat down for this break I felt like I was almost finished. I better get back to work!

Then, finally, after I finish all that, I'll start drilling the ventilation holes. That might take awhile. After the holes are drilled, I get to pull the 2 main panels back up and vacuum underneath again. :)

I realize this will not make a lot of sense now, but it will when I post pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

I took an extra all day in celebration. :) now get to an update birthdays over lol

haha missed that one.

You'll get some pictures tomorrow. Maybe even some final weights if I think they are done.

Thanks JJ :)

hahah LOVE the to-do list! no joke yesterday i sat down and made me a list and said "Imgoing to do all this tonight!" long story very short i got 2 of the 7 things done ; P im a lil OCD when it comes to my room somthings and focus on one thing and neglect other aspects at times haha

Why not drill you holes in another room or the garage on saw horses or the like? Save the hassle

Because I want to drill the holes while it's setup so I can feel where the air is stronger or weaker. Without testing, I don't know how many holes of what size I need to get a nice even spread of air across the floor. Then I also need to put buckets on there to make sure there is still adequate flow.

I only secured the floor down with about half the screws I plan to use. I'm going to have to remove all 3 panels anyway. I can't get behind the duct flange to screw it to the floor, so I need to move that panel to get to the screws. Since the panels have to be inserted and removed in order, I have to remove all three in order to move the one with the flange. I can vacuum then. I'm letting all the caulknig cure for 24 hours before I fire it up anyway.

I did take a few pictures, but they are in-process photos and really won't be interesting without the finished photos. I did not take any bud photos last night. I did spend some time jarring more buds, and some final weights for a couple strains. They may change a little during the cure, but probably not a lot.
CH9's Bubba Kush - 4.4 oz
TGA Apollo13xVortex (1c) - 3.2 oz

I did not yet weight the buds from the contest earlier. I'll make sure to weigh those tonight and get some numbers up.

Quick update before sleep. I'm exhausted.

I got my shelf for the AC and dehuey built. Still need to cut openings for the AC intake through the shelf and the wall. I'm moving it to a position that makes the ducting better. It will also let me have the cold air aimed at the center of the room, over the top of the lights.

I jarred up a few more plants. I have been getting more numbers, but left journal downstairs. I did take some pictures though.

The budget dept approved my req for a light mover, so got that ordered. I want to have it installed and the next batch vegging under it before next Tuesday. Needed to get it ordered asap.

It may be another couple days before I have the floor finished, but I'm posting a few pics to show what I have so far.

Here are the floor panels. You can see how I am supporting them. There is a 'lip' attached to one edge of the panel if you look closely. This ties the 3 panels together. The panel on the right has the blocks orientated pretty well. I try to have them pointed directly at the intake to minimize resistance.

Here is the room so far. Still several hours left. And I need to build my new hatch. All by next Tuesday!

I just realized I meant to post weights with the pics above. Not happening now. I'll try to add them tomorrow. These weights include the #s for my little contest. How many pages back was that now? Here are the guesses I have:
  • McLoadie 3.8
  • Fish Cake 4.5379
  • Cannasensei 4.99
  • wildbill38 5.5
  • CA215 3.4
  • nobodyYOUknow 4.2
  • s1ingblade 4.25
  • Vick074 5.0
  • denots 4.7

I'll accept more entries up until I post the weights. Get those guesses in soon to be entered to win a brand new, cutting edge, environmentally beneficial, turbo charged, trichome covered, absolutely nothing! :) :biglaugh:

I really will try to get another update in tomorrow, but Thursday is gonna be super rough for me, so... let's jsut say I apologize in advance.

The good news is I got caught up on everyone's journals yesterday and this morning. At least I think I've caught up on all in the last week.

I will admit I checked the motm #s earlier, and you guys really humble me. :Namaste:

Congrats on the light mover those things rock still trying to get my 6 hampster and bamboo DIY sorted ill be interested to hear your impressions on yield. Well thought out build you have going im sure all your hard work will pay off for you mate. No good betting on 420MM i think you got that sown up :bravo:so since i could really use that first prize ill take 4.0 in the contest.

Thanks Dasher.

I have some concerns about the affect on yield too, but I'm already committed to the experiment. My suspicion is the buds would be a little smaller and/or less dense. I'd much prefer the former, so let's hope they are still dense. I always have my 3rd light I can add back in if I don't like what I'm seeing.

Your guess is recorded.

Room is coming along fine. Buds look tasty. +reps.

Thanks bill. The sad part is, I won't even be done with this room after this round of changes. Eventually I'll be putting in a mini split and the shelf might go away.

i love trichrome covered nothing. my guess is 3.6.

+reps for all the great info you share
:Namaste:

I have a few extras. I'll make sure you get one.

As a matter of fact, I can probably give everyone a trichome crusted nothing

Guess recorded.

thanks for the reps Hiker:bump:

You deserve them :)

impressive piles o bud reps buddy:thumb:

Thanks BID. There are 8 more piles like that I still have to photograph. :yahoo:

I was thinking of you when i took this.

:high-five:

Cool pic Doc!
Of course then I started to think about the caption and realized that could be interpreted a couple ways. I sure hope you're wearing shorts in that picture.

Looking great it is Hiker! I know how it is setting up new rooms! I posted pics in my journal of my new flower room progress. I'd be honored have your input on it so far. Also Congrats on harvest once again looks outstanding! Until next time....:thumb:

Thanks nmherbman. I was just talking about that yesterday. I was asking my buddy if he thought I would ever be "done" with this room. He laughed and said, "knowing you... no." :)

I'll head over to look at your journal now :Namaste:
