Let's Attempt A 1lb Grow!

You seen how much water I said I've been given them would that be about what you would give them or would you give them a little bit more? Next week I planned on upping it to the whole cup each. Then about a half a gallon each there on out.. I think this was an operator's error on soil and also having the lights a little bit too close I'm keeping them at 16 in for the time being I have opened up a flap on the bottom to let some cooler air in like I said has helped out a lot and there's already two fans going in there and I think it's about time to invest in that outtake which will be controllable so I can have it set at whatever the hell I want try to make conditions a little bit more perfect!!

Not everyone has a way to measure leaf temp, so looking at them and reading the VPD chart for room temps that Regrowth posted above is often the best we can do.
Understood but leaf and air are totally different. I guess you are ignoring leaf temps then? Good luck.
Infrared thermometer is less than $30. I borrowed the one from my cooking stuff. Borrow one. You probably only need to use it a couple of times till you get it figured out. I'm sure you could use one that is for your forehead too.

Couple of things: 1. No one is ignoring anything. Regrowth's chart lists Room Temps down the left hand side so that's the chart I'm reading from. 2. $30 means more to some folks than others, not to mention that not everyone can or wants to deal with VPD.

Visually reading the leaves will do most folks just fine.

Regrowths chart is incomplete.
Bill told me to use this and follow. JS VPD Chart I wish I never saw it, but I did. How did I grow without it before? Maybe it's just a bunch of BS? Once I got it figured out it is all auto now. LOL I'm sure my previous grows weren't in the optimal range and probably in the danger zone but it grew anyway. Never lost a plant yet, but almost did once my first grow. This is my first grow following Bills suggestion on VPD.

The way I look at it is I am saving almost 3oz/mo at the dispensary and that is HUGE! Spend a bit of that savings once and make your life easier and don't loose a crop. It did cost me a extra fan and controller.

Lot of folks grow amazing plants without checking VPD (including anyone growing outside). In addition to the temp gun, there is also what could be a huge expense in environmental controls: humidifiers/dehumidifiers/heaters/AC and controllers to maintain the narrow range on the charts (regardless of which one you use).

If your leaves are curling up, raise the lights. Easy peasy!

No doubt, like I said I wish Bill never told me about that VPD link.
Regrowths chart assumes leaf and air temp are the same. Add 86F to leaf with 80f/52% and your dead plant according to chart.
My previous lights couldn't heat up anything so this is new to me this low because of the tent height. I'm surprised the plants are tolerating this much light but I am following the VFD link.

Yep the added fan and control was a hit, as my low humidity alarm goes off for 2 seconds on my phone! OMG!

I'm learning but who to listen too?
My good friend told me once to pick one person and listen to them and take the rest with a grain of salt. I'm not sure I believe that but understand it completely as we go round in circles. LOL

I hear ya...rabbit hole!

Regrowth's chart mentions leaf temps right at the top and makes an assumption for those without a temp gun!

Remember, you can have light burn at any temperature. Light burn and heat burn are two different things, and you can easily have one without the other.

No reason not to listen to Bill! I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with his advice, but not all advice can be applied by everyone. The advice I'm giving marcus here is based on his specific situation.

In this case, VPD is a guideline showing where his RH should be if his temps are in the mid 80s. It doesn't mean he's going to hit any numbers specifically, just that the RH should be higher than he was.

Which sitch? The heat/RH or the lights too close?

Leave the tent open all the way if the room has better temps/humidity.
Nvm I know what you mean now I already raised the lights I guess I'm going to see if that take care of the problem cuz the heat and humidity is pretty much good I think sitting in at about 50% range on the humidity and only 80° temp
