driftme great grow i'm subd.
When you get to using your rock wool try soak it for at least 24 hours in a extra low ph'd water like 5.4-5.5. I used to have trouble with rockwool, and when I didn't soak them long enough and tested the run-off from a block it was super high PH that would easily cause lock-out.
I use jiffy pellets now they have enough nutes till you transplant just give clean ph'd water till root shows and it's broke ground then i throw in hydro system.
I found rockwool is a PITA if you live in a hard water area and dont use RO water. you have ph that jumps all day long and it's better to keep a low water level and change it a lot to stop build-ups.
I now use hydroton/perlite/coco for hydroponics, I would highly recommend hydroton it's ph neutral, reusable and clean. I use coco alot for plants from seed but it's hard to reuse and builds up salt easy.
and lastly unless you have them spots on a lot of leafs I wouldn't worry about it, they look very green and healthy plants to me.
Thanks Jimm! and thanks for the sub =] i'll check out your stuff!
yea I soaked the rockwool in low ph water overnight. I think my main problem was i was watering when i felt the rockwool dry to the touch. when i dissected the last seedling that died, i noticed the inside was still totally wet, and barely any roots. either way, i'm pretty wary of rockwool after burning through i think 8 seeds..
i heard jiffy pellets are extremely high ph too though. what's RO water?
my hydro system was filled with hydroton.. my main problem was the plants were dying before getting to that point. i'm certain it was a case of drowning, but since i only had a few seeds left, i went with what i knew for this grow =] i havent given up on hydro yet though, i just needed a successful grow in the meantime heh
good job with the fim!
Thanks! the purple kush has had 1 fim and 1 top on the main stalk, and 1 fim on each of the largest 2 auxilliary stems. the super silver got a fim and a top on the main stalk. i won't be doing any more cutting (except for clones), but i'll be LSTing it up.
