LED Grow Test

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

i was checking out his 120w led, it looks worth the money to me, i would even say it would beat the 126w and 180w in this thread, hope so anyway cos im going to buy one! lol

i hope it will to. because i have some PS 180w's siting right here..lol
all i know is i dont like his light, its too bright.lol
i am telling you its not a joke this thing is a beast. my fu%ken eyes still hurt. i thought my eyes were use to leds by now but i guess i was wrong on that one. lol

if i was you and if you could swing it, i would shoot for the 180w one. i believe its the min you want to grow with. but if money is tight then by all means get the 120w. just think about it bro

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

my grow space is only 3ft x 3ft so it should be ok for me! ..if i had the money i would buy a 180w so unless i land a big bet on the horses its going to be the wee 120w :ganjamon:

for sure. i think either way you will be fine in that size space with the 120w. if you do get it make sure you post pics if you can? i would love to see that one lite up.

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

i sure will, got some super lemon haze on the go that i can clone til i get it and ive got flashback#2(white widow x flo) seeds, cant wait to test em both out!

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

i wanted to get a vote on what you guys wanted to see? a few big plants LST? or a few big plants SCROG? please give your opinions on what you think would be best for this grow with the 600w led light.
I've had good success with lst, and have seen good scrog grows. I don't think it matters, but i think lsting is easier, than scrog. Is Mike saying that the 600 will out perform a 600 hid or equal it ?? I'll be watching and learning !! :surf:

ya i am going to do some LST plants because i feel it will show the true potential of his lights better then SCROG. we all want to see how the penetration is on his light ans scrog wont be a good way of showing this.

yes he says it will be equal to or better then a 600w hps.

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

be careful with that gravity that stuff is strong. do not feed with any nutes or snow storm ultra. just use gravity with plain water

one 1000w HID for one plant is way over kill, their is no need for that.

Thanks, if it is just plain water, when do you add it? What about the sno storm?
I thought 1000 W HPS was overkill, but I heard it from different sources...

I added a second bank of T-5 lights yesterday to my veg area, man did the heat build up. I cant see useing a HPS in my grow room.

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

no, but i would help because you would be moving the light and now it would hit all angels and nodes on the plant. i think in a 3x3 area it would not be worth the money IMO, but would help

Unfortunately this is the most common mistake made with a light mover IMO..It is sold as a way to extend your garden..LOL... Unfortunately if you extend your garden without adding more light, it also decreases your watts per square foot .. The correct way to use a light mover is to maintain x amount of watts per square foot and since the light is moving across the canopy 95% of the time the light can be alot closer to your flowers. Plus with a light mover you get the effects of what Irish was saying.... Light hitting all nodes and such.. kind of like outdoors. Light movers IMO are one of the indoor growers hidden secrets.. You can get a light rail 3.5 on the bay for $200 (NEW).. IMO it will be the best $200 you spend on your garden.. Just my 2 cents here folks..

I use light movers on most all my gardens. I have even tried it on a t'5 fixture (did not work good for the t'5's )... Also I have found that the small LED lights, 200 watts and lower are not strong enough and the light mover dose very little in this application as well.. BUT with that big monster 600 watt light in a 3x3 on a light rail. Well that's about all I got to say on that.. (Forest Gump)... Run forest Run...

use the gravity 3 weeks before you harvest. use 1/2tsp per gallon with plain water, and feed 3 times in a row. the snow storm i add to my nutes and i had no problem.

I have been following this thread for its duration and and just now decided to register an account. Thanks for all the research Irishboy, this is the kind of test blog everyone needs for sufficient unbiased testing of LED technology. Anyways, Dogsnova, I think that with a 600w fixture which is ~3 ft. in length, a rail system would be of no use in a 3x3 room right, or am I missing something. Other than that, rail systems are great for larger rooms and increased yield, it almost goes side-by-side with CO2.

Ok.. My example of a 3x3 was a little small sorry bout that..You would want 600w in a 3x4 area..600w in a 3x4 area will give 50w a square foot. Of course that's if your trying to match the average HID grower watt for watt.... Now having 50w a square foot with a light mover will out yield a stationary light setup every time.. That's all I was saying..Sorry if I confused ya..

100% Kerekt...scrog takes up alot of time, I'm doing one now with 650w hps.You have to be on it constantly-tying, tucking, bending...lotsa twisties.I cant comment on the difference in performance yet, but lst is a helluva lot easier to maintain than a screen.True-dat
