Re: LA's Sideline Grow - GDP X Pheno Hunt -Extreme LST- Self Build Budmaster in Cupbo

Cross dressing it just not my thing . I know nothing about it . . But I'm sorry to here they are girly type boy plants . I would ask kjc about this sort of thing . Since we have mentioned his name it wouldn't surprise me if he popped along . The all seeing eye , of holly the ship's computer .

Well :) :) :) I've just got some wicked news! I no longer have to purchase magic beans. Humbolt are now going to supply my every need! :) :) :)
I'm soooo lucky and know I'm a little spoiled, yet I don't seek any of this out i promise. :)

Whoa. Nice mt friend! That is my favorite seed co. You deserve it.

Re: LA's Sideline Grow - GDP X Pheno Hunt -Extreme LST- Self Build Budmaster in Cupbo

Cheers Brit Green :)

So do I try and stick the other 2 back into veg??? Or leave them in flower whilst I finish the others?? Not really got room for them back in veg! I could just axe the big ones and start again, yet I'd be without smoke soon then! :(

So will self H, d girls effect my other younger pair, light leak is now sorted.

Anyway any ideas input cery welcome!

LA I had a self hermi on my second grow. It did seed the plant next to it. It wasn't bad for me (only found about 10 seeds pet plant) but I suppose the potential for ruining a whole crop is always there if pollen is in the air.

If I had to make room in my veg chamber, I'd kill a couple little ones and put those two established plants back in there. That's my 2 cents, have a great day buddy...

Re: LA's Sideline Grow - GDP X Pheno Hunt -Extreme LST- Self Build Budmaster in Cupbo

The plants have zero nanners etc they were girls and never have shown boy bits! So simply put as I've had past grows in same spot that had Hd fully me thinks pollen was left in spot!
So clean down and keep going?
I have one back in veg one staying in of the others, so were gonna find out one way or another! Its cool going tent again asap! Less stress! :)

Re: LA's Sideline Grow - GDP X Pheno Hunt -Extreme LST- Self Build Budmaster in Cupbo

I'm going to inspect one of mine for seeds in the morning coz I think I've got the same problem. My Ultimate Purple had mainly brown hairs at 3wk into flower & doesn't seem to be putting any weight on. =/ If I was you I'd have a clean down & keep going :)

LA, sometimes with hermies the male parts are few, but are well hidden. You get a few seeds, but nothing major. There's so little pollen that it's usually no biggie.
Hope that's your case.

FWIW that's exactly what happened to me.I didn't even notice there was a hermaphrodite until I'd chopped and harvested. Then I found a few beans while medicating. I showed my buddy who had a lot of expedience and he was able to show me exactly where the pollen had came from. There were a couple buds on one plant that had a couple male flowers that actually just barely poked out of the middle of a couple buds. I never was able to see them until he showed them to me on a trimmed Bud.

For me there was no real damage (20 seeds), and if you can't even see the male flowers, you might be fine. However, if you've already got buds full of seeds it's possibly something more serious than what happened to me.

Sending you positive vibes LA, wish I could help more than that.

Hey LA, happy Monday all. Similar experience for me right now that you and drcannabi have described. 5 or 6 of my 12 plants also got hermies this grow and a couple worse than others. This is the first time this has happened in over 15 years and about 7 or 8 grows with the same hybrid auto I've been regenerating my own seed from. I'm pretty certain that this was solely stress related as I think I've done just about everything wrong that would stress them on this gro - and specifically those wrongdoings that appear to run the risk of hermie stress per what I've researched here i.e. light pollution, temperature, airflow, and RH chaos, blinking LEDs on remote temp/RH sensors, inconsistent schedules, pH lockout, overfert, too many plants, not enough root mass/too small of pots...and um what else...basically, I tried to do too much on this gro after having not grown for 4 years and completely lost focus of the fundamentals. Can't wait to start over again in Feb.
The hermies shouldn't wreck my whole crop at this point since they came so late and just started shedding pollen yesterday. I finished harvesting plenty of non-hermie seeds from the pollen of the male I selected and pollinated them with two months ago. I've been cutting out the easy to reach hermies. I'm moving to a new gro area (my soon to be forever grow room in the workshop) when I restart in Feb. (wife wants the guest bdrm back :) so I'm not worried about transferring it although, I will make a point to smoke the hermied stuff first so there's none of that around in 4 months when I've got first flowering coming on again.
I will also just note that I have had plants that developed just one male pod (and I actually always look for one of them each time I gro but I didn't see any this time). It was just one pod that wasn't a hermie looking male rather a roundish green pod like the ones true males make and it made similar pollen w/ no nanners. All of the plants from those pollinations ended up female. I'm not sure what the percentage of M:F are for other strains but my hybrid has actually always been 75%+ females from seed. Sorry for the long post - just know I'm there with ya on the hermieoids issue! Cheers

Well as we all know its what this site is about; to share the bad with the good! !!!!
So in this vein, Both my big girls have gone H!! No balls as it were, just got seeds forming up in both. They're almost mature! ... So this confirms that it ain't my light time alterations, as they have just began!
Now both were crosses off a former member here and they weren't very stable to begin with!! Yet I'm kind of inclined to it being a light leak that I found recently!
So were just over 5 weeks into flower, with unkown time for flower. I have 2 others in flower room with no pistols yet!

So do I try and stick the other 2 back into veg??? Or leave them in flower whilst I finish the others?? Not really got room for them back in veg! I could just axe the big ones and start again, yet I'd be without smoke soon then! :(

I would examine your plants for banana shaped female pollen sacks and remove any with a sharp pair of scissors. The area around where the female pollen sacks are found should be sprayed with water to neutralize any pollen. Your grow area should be cleaned by spraying down with a 10% bleach solution. Seeds may be removed from your buds if you also wish. You may continue to grow all your plants together if you regularly check and remove any new female pollen sacks from the buds.

Question kjc, when you say regularly check for female pollen sacks, do you mean daily, hourly, twice a day, whenever they get looked at anyways? Just a bit of clarification please!

If either female pollen sacks or pollination have been detected I would check daily for female pollen sacks until harvest. I have found it very easy to spot and remove new female pollen sacks after only 1-2 days of development.

Thanks John!

Now I know what to call those things. "Female pollen sacks". I learn something new every day. Your explanation is great. I just did an Internet search on female pollen sacks and saw exactly what happened to my plant. I didn't know what to look for at the time and mine was less pronounced than the pics on the www. But they were there for sure. :Namaste:

Thanks everyone :) your input has been most appreciated! :)
I got the girls out and studied them for over an hour lol. No nanners as said before. So it must have been some stray pollen from a previous time! So basically me thinks its only certain parts that are seeded. Ill just have to plough onwards after cleaning the spot down.

British Green :) yep she is ready to be topped! Just take the very tiny tip :) Then wait for a couple of days for the two new points to grow out, then take any lower branches that are forming off! :)

Anyway pics, the first plant being the GDP auto cross and the second is the AK Cherry Cheese! :)
