Landrace Genetics 101

Here's mine - D67-D105 f/Seed. about 90% cloudy trichs. I'm going to let her go a little bit longer.

Chuckeye, I think our bud formations looks pretty much the same.

I have been smoking the leaves of the male BAM plants from Northcoast and Cora/Alpine. Both are great, really good sativa high with some trip. The buds I assume will be about the same but stronger in effect.

Not the same stuff as Seed fair. Not sure if the Northcoast is different than the Cora, pretty similar high.

This probably isn't a Landrace, but is anyone familiar with Kalalua Kush? I got these as freebies from Pua Mana Ohana (puamanaohana.us) seed bank a few years back. Couldn't find any details about the strain - even from the company - so I put them aside. Decided to give them a try. Only two seeds germinated - luckily both were female. Harvested these Day 77/115 from seed.

The name implies there's Kush in it, but I have no idea what the Hawaiian mix is. If anyone knows anything about this strain I'd appreciate hearing about it.

^^ If you get any trippy stuff from Pua Mana Ohana let us know. I had some real crazy Hawaiian back in '85. That Pua guy claims there was cannabis in Hawaii like hundreds of years ago. I know of no one else saying that.

I figure the sun/environment over there accounts for the psychedelic effect in the smoke, more than the genetics. They grow genetics like we do here in California now. No more Puna Buds, Kauai Electric for sale. I got the idea the owner of Pua was a scammer.

That bud you have looks potent, whatever it is, and likely a hybrid.

Northcoast male BAM on left, Seed connect Bam middle, Cora/Alpine BAM on right. The Northcoast and Cora look very similar and in early smoke testing of fan leaves, smoke similar.

Just looking at this pic now and see the Cora BAM has bigger, darker and wider fan leaves. So maybe different from the Northcoast. Height and internode distance is very close between them. I thought I noticed a slight difference in the high. Very early to tell with just male fan leaves to smoke.

mornln'... :ciao: ...started moving some plants out of the basement to the sheds outside...BAM #1in the foreground, and a GT behind her...

Bam#2...

2 distinct pheno's, which is nice to see...they're about 7 1/2 weeks from conception...cheerz...h00k...

I have never used a sticks to make a support to the plants, mine never needed that. What could cause a plant to be required for support? Does it give more yield if you make those or it's just the situation?

Large plants will almost always require support ;)

Black African Magic with supports, one bamboo stake and string/wire - 3 1/2" shy of 5 Feet !

Acapulco Gold from Northcoast. Seems legit to me. I like the high from the fan leaves very much and that is all I have had so far. Supposed to be from '85 and from his/Bruce Wagner owner of Northcoast, brother who was a major pot mover.

Stunted Ethiopian in the front right. I managed to make seeds with this so as to avoid paying another $200 for a 10 pack. This is different than the Bodhi or Snow AG in that it has big and wide fan leaves, and also the high is different and for me, it is better.

Just stuck these in the corner of a closet with 36 watts of LED light and wire around it to prevent my cat from chomping on the leaves.

I should add to the above post that I do not know what 'legit AG' really is. I do know what 1974 Mexican pot looked like and smoked like. I meant that this strain is certainly an old heirloom line and I think Mexican.

You can see how little it produces and the leaves turning yellow. Might be the real AG? The high is exceptional, for me at any rate. That this was collected in '85 surprises me a lot. I assumed all the old spindly lines were hit with indica by then. What I mean is the commercial lines as this was.
