Landrace Genetics 101

I smoke almost exclusively sativa, the high indica I like it but after a while it bores me, and I must note that the same sativa has a different effect depending on the time of day when I smoke...
For example, in the morning it gives me an energizing and cheerful effect, in the evening or at night the same variety gives me a very psychedelic effect...

So the early transkei is doing her thing. Got a little fried.

Have a kickass weekend

miss sticky is a pretty one for sure did those get burnt from the transition to the sun!
No they were in black plastic nursery bags and the sun cooked the roots a bit. Leaves just crisp up. She will finish I'm sure but not ideal. I didn't transplant her but will wrap the pot in something and put her in a dappled spot for a while. Maybe 4 weeks out so not gonna risk it. I can be a dick to my plants, usually stress all my plants to ensure I don't waste my time with hermies. This was just a rookie mistake and lack of sleep. course they get plenty of love too.
It's quite a search finding great specimens. Just tossed another 3 Durban males that grew pistils. Only two males left so far from 7.

ya black probably isn't the best color out in the sun that's a good thing weed out the herm leaning plants don't want to breed with those is that fairly common with Durban males! :)

From what I can find out, it seems Bodhi's version of Acapulco Gold is legit. I have always wanted to try AG. Even Robert Plant mentions AG on "The Song Remains The Same." Those guys have smoked some weed. If he thinks it's good enough to immortalize in song... I gotta try it.
I grew around 7 females or it or was it 5? Well, anyhow it lacked thc or potency. I got real high the first time I tried it and after that not so much. My expectation of a great high and imagination made for the first good high, that and I had not had that strain ever, so no tolerance. The Snow version is twice as potent with many more resin glands. Both versions seem to be the same strain with exception of the Snow being somewhat resinous and fairly good potency.

Here is the top of a Ko Chang Thai x Tom Hill Haze. This is some really rich feeling or luxurious smoke. Ran two and one was more sedate or stony so I am revegging this one as it is quite sativa. Can get a little racy for the first few minutes.

On the Acapulco Gold thing, that was grown in the mountains of Guerrero, not at the coastal city of Acapulco. If you let the buds dry in the sun, a lot of times they will yellow. There were several types of 'Acapulco Gold' back then as it commanded a bigger price. The same thing happened with Colombian Gold and other strains that were sought after.

If searching for Acapulco Gold, I would try the Highland Guerrero x Blueberry from Chimera. They have reproductions of the seeds over at Gorilla Seeds by way of ICMag. I searched thru some females of it and did find one that gave me shroom like effects. Snow's is good but not quite as strong or spaced out.

^^ Acapulco is a coastal city in the state of Guerrero. Guerrero Gold was another name for Acapulco Gold. There were several strains in the mountains, and same goes for Michoacan, Oaxacan. Quality varied a lot. The one from Chimera is well above average. The leaves on the Chimera strain are not real narrow, but I have pictures from 1974 showing Guerrero plants that look just like it. Were they already introducing indica genes into the plants?

I am getting ready to germinate some Snowhigh seeds. Zacatecas, Torreon and some mystery southern Mexican. These are recent strains so most likely contain some indica sadly. I will sort thru them and see if I can find anything sativa leaning and trippy. I already ran a 'lime green' from Mexico and did get a good sativa leaner. It was recently taken from Mexico so a modern line I guess but not sure. Family line not for sale but the plants did not have narrow leaves and were real quick to ripen. Lime Green is what they call good bud down there.

I took my babies outside for a pic in the sun I love the way they look in the sun even if it is way to the south that means summertime for lerugged! :)

the Durban on the left is still putting out these funny leafs!
