Landrace Durban Poison Outdoor Grow

I love what you're doing with bending the main stem and getting them to double down on the branching. In plant life it's a race to the top. The top cola gets most of the "grow fast" auxins while the rest grow more slowly. when you make the highest point lower than the rest, the plant puts her effort into the next highest cola(s) so they get the boost.

Indeed. I use a seaweed product (not sure if I can mention which one) that has some specific auxin vibe. Between that and the strapping down I'm hoping that lower flat portion grows up and strong. That's what I'm all about this grow. Have to do a lot of cleaning and get cuttings but I leave that for at least a week after the last tie down. Winning.

Morning mr.Rugged I'm sure you can mention the seaweed product, I use seagro, kelpak and ground kelp powder which soak and use in compost teas.
Good morning Smeegol
It is indeed kelpak applied at quarter strength every second watering as well as one half strength after the monthly flush. It probably doesn't need so much but at those concentrations it doesn't do damage so why not? Hah. The Seagro I like too, just prefer guanoflo for veg. If I remember the N is much less in the guanoflo.. Think it's 20/4/4 or somewhere like that. Both work excellently for me one just smells more horrific than the other. About to hit some serious winds next few days thanks to the cape doctor. Meh.
Have a goodie.

Good morning to all

Just thought I'd share the other experiments I'll be doing on this grow.
So cuttings have rooted. 3 were taken a week before the bulk. All rooted except 2 from the Monster Crop. One did so she will stay in the cupboard as a mother as well as one from the big lady.
The rest will be planted in the wine barrels around the end of the month to flower outdoors with the other two.
I'm not expecting huge harvests but I had two males so I now have two extra empty half barrels to use.
Pollen was collected from both males and two cuttings will be pollinated to keep the genetics in case everything goes to shiz.
Cuttings were put into peat pellets and placed Into a cupcake holder. I've only done 12 so far but the cupcake holder has another shelf for another 12. It keeps the humidity perfect and where the cupboard is located gets pretty warm. They all rooted within 7 days and then planted into party cups for now.
First time cloning was last season and I got one from 7 cuttings to root. (The monster crop girl)
I'm beginning to realise that cloning has now changed my game completely.
I'll take some cuttings from the mother and see if I can put them out in winter just for my own knowledge. We don't get frost where I am but it can get cold. Should make for an interesting experiment. Anyways I'm rambling now...

So the pics are of the cupcake box and then the clones getting an hour of sun to start getting them used to outdoor conditions.
Have a question as I'm not experienced with clones: what size should I veg them to before putting them out as they will flower almost immediately after going out?
Don't need massive harvest maybe just one long forearm size spear from each.

I'd aim for a 4 week veg once they are rooted and you can visibly see growth happening as that would give you a nice size I personally think mr.Rugged, but I've only played with clones once or twice, so it's up to you I reckon...

Last year my 1st attempt at clones I got 4/8 and put them outdoors and if they were taller than a coffee cup I was lucky but that's how we learn.

Awesome. I was thinking about 4 weeks. They are pushing new growth but it's still lame at the moment so Will hang on for a few more weeks. Taller than a coffee cup at end of harvest or when you put them out? Should be interesting to see How they do. I'm super impatient haha.

It was coffe cup when I put them out, got a bit bigger but not by much though. If you can get them just below knee height and then put them out, your rewards would be better. I have some sativa girls outdoor at the moment and now wondering why the hell I went with such a long flowering time...haha

Only have 2 indica ( shiva shanti ) that are about 6 weeks away I hope as need to make meds ( oil ) as my backs already letting me know that winters on its way.

I hope you don't mind me asking mr.Rugged you mentioned in your introductory post that you have Tourette's syndrome and you say that you use sativa for your meds which I would of thought indica might have been more suitable given the characteristics of indica/sativa as a persons choice of meds.

My apologies if it's a finicky subject brother also no need to answer if so....

Hey man.
No worries at all. I wouldn't have mentioned it if I wasn't ok to talk about it.
So linked to Tourettes is a whole lot of other things like ADD , depression, imsomnia etc. You can have some or all the others. The thc is excellent for ADD especially the Durban. I also take ritalin which kills my appetite so the doob keeps my appetite going. It is strange because it would seem like the total opposite would be more suitable however from research and personal experience stimulants are what works, coffee, nicotine (tsk tsk) and thc have the best effects.
I'll try get them knee height before going out, seems like I might as well try it properly and not a rush job.

Hi all

So been crazy windy last few days and plants are getting smashed a bit. First pics are the big lady. She is starting to push towards flower I think. Still telling me she wants aplenty lot more nitrogen still so I gave her a feed. Can't get a decent pic in this wind but will update when I can.
2nd is the Monster Crop double and she is sending bud sites everywhere. Should get some decent nuggets and if not at least I know how much she can take. So far all good. Have a great evening all.

Good day all
Wanted to have a discussion on organic flowering nutes. Not store bought.
I put a few thin layers of bonemeal in the bottom third of the pot which is apparently only ready for use after 4 months. If that is the case it should be available to the plants now. What about fermented banana tea? Keen to hear everyone's input and ideas. Aaaand...... go!

@AngryBird might be the person to start talking with about organics. Read @Emilya 's information too. There's lots of juicy well done living organic soil topics in her threads.

Hi
There is a whole Organic growing section with alot of DIY nutrients
I have Emilya 's tutorials in my signature as well. There you will find cal mag from eggshells etc :)

So today I'm a little stuck. Found this on my plants and Not sure if it's a result of the wind hammering them and then two days of very hot weather. Can't match it to any of the defiencies in the charts and I can only think it's wind burn. She has had her last nitrogen feed yesterday and a thorough watering. Some tips that were whipped against each other are all tattered. Will leave the below pics in case someone recognises the issue. Happy vibes to all.

Looks like nute burn. But why don't you think so?
Hi Stoneotter
I think you could be right actually. She was showing she wanted N so I gave her a bit yesterday and quite possibly went a bit heavy. I'll see how she does today and tomorrow if Its worse I'll flush her. I've seen wind burn similar to this before. Always windy here. But this time a lot of leaves were yellowing so wasn't sure. The yellowing looks like it's stopped but then she looked a little meh today. Will post an update tomorrow. Appreciate the input.
