Lady G - Seedsman Sponsored Grow - Sweet Coffee Ryder

Hope you grow a couple monsters

*I would settle for a couple Medusa's...hahahahaha j/k Thanks PW.

Looking good Lady G

I love how they have come to light after you topped them.

*They will tell us stories if we listen...like FEED US! hahahaha Thanks so much Troy!

Aww awesome they are getting bushy!!

*Thanks Toasty, I am having so much fun waking up everyday and seeing the growth.

Hey G2HM, I just wanted to comment on your plan for increasing the light. It makes sense, but I bet you could safely be more aggressive. I agree with PW - slowly increasing and seeing how they respond is the way to go. But I would also say - don't feel like you have to stop at 300. I get mine up around 600W total in veg myself, and the plants get to a point where they just adore the light. I bet that point will come even earlier one the timeline with autos. I'd keep increasing up and up as long as the plants are responding well if they were photos, but perhaps the auto growers here know better than I do and can corroborate.

*I would LOVE to do that, but I do not have the light to do that with. It's either 300w or 600w, that is all I have. But I totally agree with you, I'm gonna keep testing them because you remind me the time is always faster. Our babies grow so fast don't they. Thanks for the advice, I always need it. :thanks:

I'd just increase slowly and let the plants tell you what they think.

*I really don't have that option PW, I absolutely agree with you. I love listening to plants, but when you don't have the equipment, I have to make do. Thank you for reminding me.

EDIT: Great ideas everyone!!!

No worries at all G2HM, I'm in the same spot as you actually. I have 2 LEDs, at 418 and 276 watts. I was up to the full 694 well before I flipped. Even if it's 300 or 600, you can still move onto the 600 earlier. And like PW said, if the plants don't like it, they'll let you know.

I'm just thinking with an auto you don't get the luxury of vegging until everything is just right, so it'd be good to get as much light as they'll take as early as you can!

I just saw one of your recent posts in Sue's "3.0" thread, noticed the link to your grow journal, and read the first post in it out of curiosity, mainly just to see what you're growing and its description.

*Welcome! :welcome:

Then I learned why you are growing it. I am VERY INTERESTED in your results! Both, to a lesser extent for myself, and for my mother; you just cannot help but keep remembering when your Mom asks you one day out of the blue after a doctor visit, "What does pre-dementia mean?" That was a couple years ago. I also know someone who is in her early 80s who, for all that she's 30+ years older than me, is a good friend - and her husband had a stroke a couple years back and might be declining in other ways now, too.

*Everyone is going to be introduced to dementia at least once in their life, whether through friends or family. 1 in 3 people will be susceptible to brain diseases with the increased sugar in our diets. I’m so glad you are VERY INTERESTED because you may need to take up a maintenance plan of dosing oil. Thank you for sharing your personal story!

So interested that I wish I'd read about this strain's potential ability to help with neuro-related issues last Autumn when I was lucky enough to be voted Member of the Month and found myself with credit at a couple of seedbanks as a result.

*This is a great place to start. Now you can learn what strains are available to you when you can purchase them.

I am going to attempt to follow along, or at least to pop in now and then to read a bit.

*I’ll try to post as many pics to keep it interesting.

Of course I wish you the best of luck with this grow (and with life in general)!

*Thank you kindly, I really appreciate the encouragement, I’ll take it. :hugs:

More and more often, we face (more and more) issues of this nature. I feel that the frequency of such issues has increased well beyond the simple fact that, on average, we are living longer. I feel that the various pollutions we are living with, probably combined - for some people - with the choices in life, are significant contributing factors. And, that as a result of all of this... "We aint seen nothing, yet." These kinds of issues are going to become more and more significant to ALL of us as time goes on. And I cannot trust the corporations to find a solution for this stuff. Why? GREED. I used to joke about chiropractors (having never gone to one), saying that they don't charge a person to fix them, only to allow them to get by until the next bi-monthly contribution to their retirement funds. In other words, if the pharmaceutical companies (et cetera) could sell us a pill that would actually heal us - and did so - then, sooner or later, they would run out of income. It is in their best interests to continue selling us band-aids for bullet wounds (so to speak).

*I couldn’t have said it better myself. I am doing it to counter the greed that is preventing people from helping themselves. If I can do it, share information, help others, to help themselves then we can bypass pharma all together.

I feel that the above will never change as long as we allow the "medical industry" to be motivated by profit. One of the negatives of capitalism, I fear. (Don't get me wrong; I am very much in favor of capitalism. But it would have issues even if our bastardized form of it wasn't in many ways more akin to some inbred cross of communism and socialism .)

*Although IT may never change, the green flower will change the people. I believe we are repatriating a plant that is Native to the Earth, not to people, nor pharma. I’m curious to see how relegalization in Canada will impact my rights as a “terminal” patient. I put “terminal” in quotes because I don’t believe I’m dying. I believe I’m stabilized enough to show how much Cannabis can help treat Neurodegenerative diseases. Great discussion BTW.

OF COURSE it can be done! I don't think that was ever seriously in question, lol. The question is... is doing so worth it? And that's something that each individual grower has to decide. Will the clones end up being smaller? Sure, after all, we are dealing with a finite lifespan with auto-flowering strains. However, ponder this: We've got threads here in which people grow cannabis plants in 18-ounce Solo cups. And I'm pretty sure that I've seen one about growing in those "micro-sized" Solo cups that can't have a greater capacity than a shot glass. So, again, the question of, "Is it worth it?" is one to which the answer will no doubt vary from grower to grower.

*Okay I’m convinced to do it. This is all about experimentation while I have the genetics. If someone says I can’t do it, then I want to try. I do appreciate the solo cup concept, it’s a great visual to learn from.

I was thinking earlier today (well, yesterday, it turns out )... I ended up mentioning air layering in passing in one of my posts recently. And doing so caused me to start wondering if this would be THE way to go, if one wishes to clone their auto-flowering plants. Instead of whacking off a cutting, spending time rooting it, and then growing it out, why not use the air layering process to cause that stem/branch to grow roots while it is still attached to the "mother" plant? Then, when the grower observes that sufficient roots have formed, simply cut the - now fully capable of being considered an actual plant instead of just a cutting - plant off of the mother, and plant it in the container that the grower wishes to grow it in. One shouldn't have the issue of the lost time (during which he/she is attempting to get the cutting to grow roots and become a clone). What do you think of my idea?

*Sounds great if you have pictures, I am unable to understand. But I’m VERY INTERESTED.

*Thank you for writing such a grand post, I love meeting new people I can relate to. As you can imagine, I’m limited in my abilities in the outside world, but when it comes to my garden I am larger than life. Welcome to my journal where I cross many borders to share my story in order to destigmatize dementia as a death sentence. I am living, thanks for making it VERY INTERESTING. :)

pics coming right up...:) before I increase the light...

What's Update Seedsman Sponsored Journal - How Does Your Garden Grow? — 100% Organic Garden & Brain Rehab — Feb 16, 2018

These pictures were taken just after a feeding. I assumed that's why they are a bit droopy, I left them a bit long to feed maybe. They look lush and healthy.

As you can see by the tips of these lovely girls they are just a bit white meaning I've hit their capacity for nutes, which is awesome. Nothing worse than underfeeding an auto. Since they are incredibly fast growing, I'm increasing nutes by 2ml increments whereas photo periods I would only do 1ml increments.

We have a new addition to the family just to make things interesting. Please welcome my aloe plant to help keep the air clean, and keep another medicine on hand. I will be putting her in a larger pot, not sure she will fit, but we will see.

EVEN MORE LIGHT ADDED — These are pictures BEFORE I increased the light.

I'm at 600w is what the light is, not what I'm pulling from the wall. But it's easier to remember and keep track.

I moved the fan to just blow on the light cause it's super powerful and hot. I thought maybe the wind is too powerful blowing down on the plants since I usually having it blowing up towards the light.

Thank you for guiding me along the way.

Much love Sweet Coffee Lovers.

Check out how amazing my new glasses are. You can see how much this helps me avoid the blinding pink in my garden. How lucky am I?

It's been a few hours since I increased light to 600w - AND THEY LOVE IT! So much I started to do some training. This is the fun part now. Channelling my ocd as we speak.
