Labexperiment's 9 Strain Indoor Peat 600HPS & TS3000

The trichomes were where I like them for smoking, 5%ish clear, 5%ish amber, 90%ish cloudy. The seed for the grow came as a freebie with an order from The Single Seed Center with no info on breeder or estimated harvest times, until the pistils showed up I was under the impression it was a photo period strain. Harvesting at day 47 would make it a 7 week flowering strain which is not that out of the ordinary, especially with all the fast finishing strains out there now a days.

I noticed I missed adding this to the harvest post. Which works out well as I updated it on the 30th to include the move to curing, I know 3 days(closer to 4 days in terms of hours) of drying is low but they were dry due to low(35-40%) humidity in my home, I am working the issue and have come to the conclusion I may have to buy a tent and humidifier for the drying process, unless someone can provide another/better alternative.

This week the TS3000 showed up on Oct. 31st 2019 and was installed that night in the grow room and hung 65cm(26") above the canopy and will be lowered over the next few days to approx. 45cm(18") above the canopy.

Amnesia, Black Sugar Rose and LSD look like they will need watering in the next day or 2, everything else will be good for 4 or 5 more days by the look and weight of the pots.

The saga continues, ppm run off of the Sugar Black Rose in a square pot is still high despite the flush last time. One of the non featured Sugar Black Rose plants in a round container has started exhibiting the early signs of excess potassium. The nutrient mix for that one plant will be adjusted to have 2 ml/gal less bloom next feeding.

Girl Scout Cookies is dry and cure well under way, the dry weight for the plant is 11.8 grams.

Nov. 6th 2019 update, not sure why I didn't think of it till tonight but I did. Starting on Friday Oct. 11th 2019 I started weekly doses of 1.25ml/ltr of Snow Storm Ultra as a foliar feed supplement. I will try to remember to take a picture of the bottle to add to the next update. This Friday the 8th of Nov 2019 will be the last foliar application of Snow Storm Ultra as I expect the flowers to start gaining mass soon. There are no issues, but there are interesting observations to mention. The Amnesia plant went a day or 2 longer then I expected before needing watering/feeding, the 6 other plants I thought would have sufficient moisture in the soil for 4 or 5 days, could have gone 3 or 4 more days from today, which would have made a long time between feeding/watering. With all the reading and conversing I do about growing, I have been advised to water/feed every 3 days even if the pot is not lite, as the plants will welcome the extra moisture, especially during this bulking period. He believes it will significantly increase my yield compared to my normal routine of waiting till the pots are lite before watering/feeding. His advise combined with something I read about lower roots not being developed while the feeder roots in the upper 3 or so inches of peat dry out the upper layer which causes plant development to slow down. And considering I started flowering 2 or 3 days after transplanting I believe these 3 sources of information/knowledge to be enough to alter my normal routine, therefore I am going to try watering/feeding every 3 to 4 days when the top layers is dry even if the pot is still not as lite as I would normally prefer.

No pics today just some text for the update. Although I still recorded information in my hand written journals.

All plants received 2 liters of water with:
.5 ml/gal Silica
5 ml/gal Cal-mag
4 ml/gal Micro
.5 ml/gal Grow
7 ml/gal Bloom
2 ml/gal Liquid Kool Bloom. Switching to Kool Bloom Dry for some of the plants next feeding as some are approaching the end.

With a PPM of 1020 ph'd to 5.8

Girl Scout Cookies is cured or at least cured enough to start enjoying, curing has lessened the hay smell. It has a light hay smell still as it dried too fast, I have ordered a tent and humidity controller to solve this issue in the future. I will continue airing the containers to see if it helps further lessen the hay odor. It does the job and provides a decent euphoric feeling that lasts for about an hour and it makes me giggle.

I hope you find something in here worthwhile. Thanks for following/reading my journal.

Nov. 24 2019 flower day 59 update.
Amnesia log.jpg Cheese Candy log.jpg LSD log.jpg Sugar Black Rose log.jpg

None of the other plant pots except the one listed above were light enough to need watering/flush feeding. I am still waiting on the tent I ordered to show up before I chop some of them. I ordered the tent to use in the drying process in order to better control the humidity levels. Several of the plants that could be harvested will have to wait for at least one more day, maybe more, for fear of them drying to fast and ruining the smells and taste I would prefer to have.

Girl Scout Cookies has continued to improve in both smell and taste during the extended curing process, and the hay smell is hardly noticeable anymore. I have been opening the containers twice a day for 30 minutes at a time. I have grounded up the remaining 11 or so grams today for consumption. It burns to a white ash in my pipe and the GSC flavor is noticeable. I think I am gonna roll a few and see how they go.

Been a busy day.

My HPS/MH ballast gave out on the 20'th of Nov leaving the TS3000 as the only light source for the 4x8 grow room. So I purchased a new light to fill the space, it arrived today and the box was damaged.

(had flash-backs of the Mars-ll 1600)
The inner cardboard was depressed but not punctured.

So I finished unboxing it and did a test fire.

I had to redo the ducting for the carbon filter because of the elimination of the air cooled hood, and to accommodate the hanging ratchets for the new light. I installed the light and lit her up.

And here is what the room looks like with the Mars Hydro TS3000 and Spider Farmer SF-4000.

I did not record the strain name for the photos but thought some bud-porn would be nice. Some of the black leaves will give you hints to which may be which. There are some Sugar Black Rose in round 3 gallon pots that were not featured in the journal as there were an extras sort of thing, they are the ones with the most deficiencies. There is also a Silver Widow in a square pot with no previous photos in this journal as it was an extra-ish plant as well.

There have been a couple light related issues, the 2 - 195watt wall draw King LED lights used as place holder for the damaged Mars ll 1600(no ones fault just bad luck) were not sufficient for high quality flowering, in my opinion. I tried rotating the plants between the HID and the King LED's to share the stronger light, but if it helped it wasn't very much. Include the 3 week out of stock delay(no ones fault just bad timing when ordering) and there was just too little light for too long. Add the failure of the HID in the last 2 and a half weeks of flower which was less then ideal. And All of these issues will significantly reduce the overall yield and quality. I ordered a tent 3 weeks before my estimated harvest time, knowing it was out of stock. Add another order delay and I have to further lower my expectations for quality in the drying process. I contacted Mars Hydro and received an e-mail on Friday saying their stock(aka my tent) has cleared customs and was being sent to their warehouse, and will be forwarded to me within an estimated 2-3 days when the receive it.
Good news is everything will be here for the next grow.

At lights out at 8 A.M. of Nov.26th I will be shutting off the timer and start the harvesting process by trying the 36-48 hour dark period, I have also read some go 48-72 hours and may end up trying that while waiting for the tent. I will be cutting them all down no later then the 72 hours. All the tricomes are cloudy enough for me, some are a little beyond the amber I prefer but can be used for night time consumption. I choose the strains in part for their similar flowering times. I would prefer to let a few of the strains go for another week ideally but lack of space forces my hand at this point.

Day and night temperatures remained constant during flower thanks to a day/night temperature fan controller set to 79 during the day and 69 at night but never got below 71. Humidity during flower hovered around 45% most of the time but did go as low as 30% for a day or 2 twice.

Thanks for following/reading my journal. I hope you find something useful here.
