Kushtie - ShortStuff Autos In NFT

Just realised a typo on my last comment (due to being stoned when i did it). It should be wait until your trichs are all cloudy with a few amber before flushing. I said amber with a few orange, d'oh! Cloudy trichs will be at full ripeness with the amber giving a more couchlock effect, more amber = not being able to move too much.

Here a wee story for you: picked up some amnesia haze one time, the guy gave me a bucket (tend not to do them). The cycle back home felt like i was floating on water but back at home was a different story. Had to divide the wee bag into 2. Took me half an hour to do it while i melted into the floor, even the mrs offered to do it for me but i would not be beaten. That was some mental sh*t.

The cycle back home felt like i was floating on water.....

I'd like that too I reckon :)

You should try going for a ride in the dark on a big squishy downhill bike......that's like riding a magic carpet :)

I mind the first year they had the world cup course up at fort bill me and a mate went up and hit it a bit too baked and tired.....I broke my bike and he broke his heel :biglaugh:

Cheers Camo....here's hoping I can repeat stuff like that if I can manage to keep the canopy where I want it. And I hope it happens to you real soon too :high-five:

I dont see any amber trichs yet. I think you could get away with giving them a wee blast of flower nutes in a fresh tank. Give a few days then change res to plain water for a 7 day flush. I would say they at least a couple of weeks before being ready to chop. Dont be so eager as you know the end product will be so much better especially if you still got a lot of clear trichs.

No worries bud.....been feeding them as much as I can all along and have just flushed both tanks with fresh full strength nutes. Just got to play it by ear now I guess.

So long as I can get one down before my Auto Dark Devil needs the space as it popped above ground yesterday. Then when I get another tank free I can start Auto Candy Kush and the next free tank after that will get the Afghan Kush Ryder and after that I might be back to Violator Kush and hopefully a couple of other strains I haven't tried that will need 12/12.

Kushtie these still look amazing :)
My Purple looks quite similar to your last picture, almost all brown pistils, 90%+ cloudy trichomes. So you are planning to give it another couple of weeks? I was actually thinking to cut it quite soon although my first grow.

Dont chop too early. Your first grow is always tempting to take "tasters" off and even chop early. Wait!!! "Tasters" are fine (we have all done it) but wait till you see amber trichs before chopping. If you're around the 90% mark of trichs being cloudy i would seriously consider flushing. Flushing in hydro (especially nft) will take around 10 days although 14 days is optimal. Once you think they are ready to chop leave for 2 days in complete darkness and cut off the water supply too. This will make trimming a little easier and also increase resin production. I wish i had waited on my first grow some years ago but was too eager and didnt read any forums for such advice (although i read "the bible" by jorge cervantes before i started growing). The smoke was good but could have been better.

Hang in there buddy. It's day 75 for mine which is what the breeder says they should take but there are 3 things telling me it's not ready....

1 - clear trichomes and white pistils make it look like it's not quite finished yet.
2 - EC going down and pH going up in the res in a way that suggests she still has a good appetite
3 - a wee tester bud dried a bit scraggly so I'm hoping that although the calyxs look to have swollen they still have a bit of filling out to do so that buds remain full and firm once dried

It tasted promising......hopefully Glasgrow will be pleased to hear that it smokes a lot like the RRF did. A wee bit different but still tastes Diesel dominant.

Maybe funny coloured weed ain't that bad after all! :) :biglaugh:

Thanks to both of you. I held strong and didn't chop. Will probably have to skip the weekend to as I am away. So 2 weeks extra is quite likely. Let's see what happens.

I'm glad I held out too.....4 days later I'm seeing mostly milky with the occasional amber. Water uptake is still high but nutrient uptake seems to have slowed so time to start seeing if I can lower the EC a bit with water and as little of anything else as I can then aim to harvest near the end of their dark period. I'm not going to bother flushing with just water....if it's good enough for Grey Bear it's good enough for me and TBH I don't think it helps any given all the tester buds I've sampled before.

I think the green one might just have 2-3 days left to live and the pink one not many more than that???

I have to recommend flushing. Will be a much smoother smoke and a lot better taste wise. Top the tanks up fully with water (or change completely with fresh water) and leave for another 7-9 days. Last 2 days before you chop turn the lights off and leave them in darkness for 48 hours, that will increase resin production and the buds will pack on extra weight too. They are not quite ready to chop just yet. Aim for around 10-25% amber trichs. Also dont go on when seedbanks say your plants will be ready. Most take up to 2 weeks longer or more.

Leave for at least 7 days kushtie. You'll thank me for it.

Sorry if I was a bit short last night lads.

There are an awful lot of overprotective growers out there and starving plants for about the last quarter of their flowering cycle seems like madness when you want psychoactivity to peak then.

Flushing didn't seem to do the Mothers Finest I grew any favours anyway....that still tasted like shit :biglaugh: With the last run of VK the first of the 3 plants down was better as I don't think the other 2 were quite as ready and dried faster. The stuff off the other 2 I didn't trim and gave to Glasgrow dried slower and I would agree had more flavour than stuff from the same plants I did trim and put on the drying rack.

I plan on getting a RH meter real soon.....maybe even tomorrow as there are some other bits and bobs I fancy getting too.
