KushMeister's Second Grow - Afghan Kush - LA Woman - Medi Bomb 1

Not bad. Snow is sticking around yet and more this weekend, probably dip down to -20°c. Average

We had some of that cold stuff down here a couple of days ago. 14" of snow too, but that's already gone. Supposed to get more cold and wet this weekend.

not going to say your plants are pretty but...... your plants are pretty:)

When you top your plants it looks like you also top the secondary branches when they start growing out from the initial topping. Is that the case? Just wondering, because I've been playing around with LST for a while but haven't done it seriously, partly because I'm not 100% familiar with how to.

If I am diligent I top after the fourth major leaf set, then as secondary branches form I top those after 2 sets of leaves and so on until I have the bush I am after. Then it's up up and away with some LST and Supercropping on the way:cheesygrinsmiley:In other words I try to establish a base plant with lots of internodes, the tighter the spacing the better:cheesygrinsmiley:

Hey PC! Yes I do top, or in this case FIM the secondary tops and the tertiary tops again as well.

With these plants I FIMed the main shoot after the second set of true leaves. Then I FIMed the resulting secondary tops again after two nodes. I then LSTed the two main branches on each plant. I also FIMed the lower branches that grew out after the main FIM. All together, each plant has had approximately 8 tops pinched off. All the topping slows down growth initially but after awhile they really take off. That's where these girls are now, just starting to respond positively to the toppings and LST.

Here are a few shots of some sucsessful FIMS. Sucsessful being more than two tops produced. The first one has three tops, the second has 4 and the third has 4 or 5 tops. There are also a couple more FIMS with 5 or 6 tops, but they're too small to get a good shot of them yet.

Hoz, sounds like you and I have the same idea about how to make a bush out of our girls. :high-five:

One of the things I like about topping/FIMing is, in addition to the immediate two or more tops produced by topping, the lower branch sites are stimulated to start growing after topping. These branches can then also be topped as they get longer if wanted. This is a great way to get a plant with a lot of tops at an early age.
