Day 20 flowering and everybody's doing good. Found a couple more plants with balls last night. Only two each so I picked them off and will monitor the situation. Buds are taking off a bit and the stretch is finally slowing. I'm glad I went 12/12 when I did as I'm running low on head room. The lights are about 6-8" above the plants and no burn and the 150W down low is really getting the lower buds happenin'.

I used a polarized filter for this shot. It's off my Canon AE-1 35mm. I just held it against the lens of my digital and got a decent shot. No tricks in the computer and no flash. You can see the 150W down there in the bushes.

The trichs are starting to come in on some of the buds and even the smaller fan leaves but the stink hasn't started yet. I think it's almost time to do a nute change and hit them with the Dr. Hornsby's Big Bud! C'ya L8tr.

Lookin good bro.
And thats why I'm changin to DWC.
No more waterpumps and supply lines lookin like a licorice factory.
Just one dirty big airpump and 3 12" air stones in a 50L tub.
Then I can smoke more hash and forget more shit that I don't have to do.(what the????). No more timer worries. most cheap non digital timers are so inconsistent the supposed 15min on periods can last anywhere from 15 to 30 mins.

Your right newsisnoise it's been f'n cold alright but it's warming up here. Only -12 right now. Spring is on the way! Yeah right. There's 25 going right now but a couple are runts in comparison to the majority. I'm going to leave them in there 'cause I'll harvest in stages and let them fatten up before they go.

Thanks groover. I use one 12" stone per tub. I used to use 2 but I'm pretty sure one is enough if you've got a decent air pump. It's on 24/7 and the girls seem happy. My tubs hold 50L and the water is just frothing in there. I was looking to emigrate to Oz about twenty years ago as I heard the trout fishing was to die for and I always wanted to ride a 'Roo. ;0)

Thanks Grooster. It is like a forest in there when you're checking for male flowers every day. I go cross-eyed before I'm done but I haven't found any the last couple of days. I tagged the ones that had a couple so as not to take clones from them. Watch that woody around my girls eh. They're all virgins and I wanna keep it that way. lol

This part of the journal is kinda slow. It'll probably be a week or so before I post any new pics but the buds should be better looking by then. They're starting to push out the trichomes and should start looking frosty soon. I'm going to try doing a nute change tonight and with the Big Bud in the tubs they will hopefully pop right out. I need to get some clones and I've got a batch of oil to process. No rest for the wicked. I'm almost out of my AN Bloom nutes with maybe enough to finish this grow. I've got some 3-part stuff called Wild Thing that will have to do if I run out. It's a five hour drive to the nearest hydro store and I'm poor as a church mouse. Oh well. High there folks. Just a quick update on the girls. I'm overdue for a nute change. Getting the water together to go for it tonite so in a week there should be a noticeable enlargement of buds. There are so many bud sites that the poor girls are working overtime. I topped a few of the taller ones but the stretch is definitely over and any increase in height will be colas.

I might have to cut these back as they're filling the tub!

I am a noobie myself, just starting. I love the results of the DWC bubbler systems, the Clowns grow got me hooked and you just confirmed it, btw I love the rollers on the tubs, I would never be able to use your size tub without them, my back is way to fubared to even think about moving that much weight around.

I was wondering how the clowns kept their water cold, your use of ice around the air pump explained it for me, I need to keep the air pump out of the grow room. What is the highest temp that is safe for the nutrient solution?

High MountainHigh.

Sometimes folks have to resort to chillers but my room is 8' underground and needs heat all year round so the nutes almost never get too warm. I've read that up to 75F is the max and mine got about that high before I used any cooling. Now it stays around 68-70F which the girls seem to like just fine. I also use a weekly dose of hydrogen peroxide to make sure nothing nasty gains a foot-hold in the tubs. I leave the air pump on the cold concrete floor so that probably helps as well. The nute sol'n stays clear like water and the roots stay nice and clean so it's all good.

As far as I'm concerned I found about the easiest way to get decent crops and with very little maintenance the girls seem to grow very well.

These ones have about 4 weeks to go and I hope to have some KaliMist started soon but need another room or a grow box to grow them in.
