I think if we refrain from over feeding and concentrate on environment more a lot of our problems would never happen. I truly believe that less is more when it comes to nutrients.
I agree with you on environmental focus.
it is absolutely insane how much less I'm feeding from my first grow and then I was light on times fed due to amount. I was in soil using half recommended Fox Farm full line and that was an insane amount of fertilizer at 1500-2000ppm. now im lucky to hit 750ppm.
... but, I don't trust ppm anymore lol. something never felt right so I don't even check it but for flushing. maybe EC at a later time.
see, it seems certain nutes don't register the same as others. seems most ppm come from micro. makes sense its all the metal.
that means I can dump bloom in to toxic level and not know reading ppm. I won't but could add it twice by mistake check ppm and if I didn't have a control wouldn't seem too far off and poison them.
Does that track for others or maybe I have bad pens?
but all that aside, my fear is that they starve, loose weight especially on a low yield strain like im running.
For my environment, I just need to get light distance down. I have been too far away last grows with loose buds. Getting the light closer causes nutrition/watering issues which brings me back to the nutrients lol. never ending cycle. I think the more they drink the less they nees to eat. That isn't a true statement for real, it just a wayvto think about it.
I mean mix solution lighter and they drink more water without forcing salts into the plant. so in your head adding less nutrients seems less food but they drink more.
sorry for the book lol. good discussion. how to others run 1000w hps from canopy and how do you tune in the nutrition?
