Nice harvest of the auto, everything is looking good KB, what is your tent height? Are you having to tie/train the zam pretty hard to keep it low enough? Seriously considering some Malawi or Mulanje that I got from a 420 member but a bit concerned my little 3 x3 x 6.5 couldn't contain it lol.

HyenaMerica says the same thing, and really proved it to me with his auto attic set up using 1/4 strength nutrients and creating a massive forest of colas. Since then, anything I add has been at a low dose. Mind you his explanation included his theory that reservoirs can quickly accumulate unused nutrients as the plants only use what they need. So using smaller amounts limits that potential accumulation. I dunno, most of my success is the soil, and I don't use a lot of nutrients anyway so my perception/experience is very limited. It just makes sense to this old dudes brain.

Not so much, It is sour for sure but with ever increasing citrus and pine. And OMG it is strong not for a stealth grow for sure.

It is a gorilla shorty.....4'11" minus the fan and filter under cob light. So When I ran the Zam the first time I had a screen ( some kind of volleyball netting-ish, my first screen attempt) I tied and twisted and kept it pretty low. Then I did the re veg, which really brought the fire, It didnt stretch much as A re veg. The re veg smoke is over powering and a creeper. Super spacey astro physicists stuff. my wife calls it the mind eraser, probably better if you dont smoke the whole thing I tell her but she never listens:laugh:

Yes I tied the zam up pretty good on the first grow, more tried to spread it out, it branches very well. beautiful plant.

6.5 feet to your lights, you should be good with Malawi and Mulanje as long as you flip them when they're not too big. Expect about 100-200% stretch. There is a squat wide leaved pheno of Mulanje, but the common one I found is the stretchy sativa one.

And go light on the N for both. They don't like a lot.

Yeah sadly it is 6.5 total, and I will be using a new light, a CMH. So I might only have 5'. But I will use a scrog net and tie down like KB. Flip early, and I will expect a 200% stretch. Seed drop in 2 or 3 weeks. Actually a little nervous/anxious about it but, been plenty of people on 420 that have done this so its quite minimal. They blazed the trail, I'm just staggering down it after the fact.

I was scared chit-less.
I am still nervous about, but these are the plants I love, the 200% stretcher, excellent! give me an inch and a half a day of growth and I am alright, dancing in the street!
I have the extension for my tent will bring me up to 5'8" but I still be tie and twist the plant under the lights..... spread it out and all about! What the heck I need a hobby!

KIS has everything BAS does for LOS soil plus his website is super informative. Check out the PODCAST section. Some real interesting stuff. The Coots interviews are interesting.

I got started with LOS with Coots in IC and then GC - was always here tho.

KB congrats on your harvest. I think you timed it perfectly. When you see a little foxtail starting like that, its time. I usually always take that as the message from the plant she's had enough.

You have some steady hands there bud to get those trichome pics. Thats impressive.

What's your next light upgrade??


I started with BlueMats first for automated. Then switched to AutoPot. If and when I do another auto setup going to look at drip irrigation on a timer. I dunno maybe... The AP system is good if you don't have too many plants.

I think there's a podcast on KIS about automated watering.

Economy of scale - the AP system doesn't scale up very well in my opinion.

If I was smart and had the room, I'd do PHOTO plants in the big pots like now and instead of VEG set up another 4.5gal system and run AUTOs. KB you could easily run a couple of the 4.5gal AP pots with a small res - you would easily get a week at least without needing to be there.

It's really why I went with AP. I went 28 days last summer (in AC) with 3 plants in flower. Just did it for shits and giggles. It worked.

This year no AC so its a no go really. Girls drink a huge amount of water without AC. Gallons a day.

?.....Could I keep the reservoir inside the tent, in the corner? I was looking at the 2 pot set up.
I love the earthbox but with a 12 gal res. ..... would suit me. I may have some international asia travels this fall, gonna be 10 days min. I hate to shut down growing.

Yo Kismet what shaking? Yes diesel that old ny kind. I have hope the wifey likes it. The Zamaldelica turned out to give her irritable moments when she had too much. She likes to linger over a smoke so sometimes it is easy to have one hit over the line. She still likes the old zamalD but only one hit at a time.

She has a high tolerance so the game with Zamal-D is mixing it with something else to take the edge off. Some of my weaker flower.

The Auto Diesel seems to be playing nice after a week in jar, the fresh stuff is still fresh but starting to mellow. It is deceptively dense, with lots of sticky-ness.
Wish I did a cob but no time to sort that out now.
I have a cob of ZamalD in a jar (from the re veg I think), very floral in smell, smoke is smooth and thick on the exhale. It is space-y and disorienting in effect.
I want to try it myself in october, well, I am such a light weight but I can handle the space-y ones better, cause I an a space cadet.

I am still pulling the harvest out of the low and slo dry and into the cure jars, I have some vacuum sealed as well. Just playing around with the remnants of this grow and not jumping into anything new yet.

I might just re amend after letting the lambsQuarter grow wild for maybe a month. Then chop it and re amend and give the soil some love with my em-1 and this time I cannot forget to get gro kashi.

Right so, I am in a ....... No wet nugs please Zone.
