KB Follows The Hi Brix Road In DBHBB

I swear our society is doomed with this 'pop culture phenomenon'. I get disgusted when I people watch and see a couple out on a date and they can't get their freaking heads out of their phones. I see families eating dinner at a restaurant and all of them are looking at phones or tablets.

I guess I am just old school. I like the access to technology but I can't stand it being the focal point of my life. Man I can't wait to move up into the mountains and not have to deal with people that I don't want to.

I see the same thing everywhere I go. While I'm at dinner with my wife we can just look around and see which groups are happy, what relationships will last and who is mad at each other by the lack of attention they pay to the people their with.
I have the same thoughts about this as all you seem to have. It's disgusting.

Think these people have very little self esteem and have to look and click on others fake experiences and accomplishments. Then their self esteem gets even lower. It's a vicious cirkel for them. But I don't pity them.

The ability to not give a sh!t about anything is one of me greatest/worst personality traits. I could care less what others think about me or my life, on the other end of the spectrum I have a difficult time caring about anything... Definitely something I've become more aware of with age.

Tech is good but it's killing our society. Sad
To counter this point I (unwillingly) was watching the news yesterday and there is a new FDA approved app that tracks when women ovulate and tells them they have a 93% to not get pregnant on the off days. Well, apparently some of those 7% got pregnant and are suing the creators of the app :rofl:.

So technology is helping procreate.

It's called social media but the more they get in to it the more unsocial they become. Called a girl up which I thought cute. Met her at work and we traded glances a few times. She was so f*cking freaked out about me calling her she quit work... the funny thing she started working in the apartment buildings I live in so now a year after she asked me out on coffee the other day.... ??? Don't people call and ask each other out any more? :D

Ya eh Gazoo...i see that sort of thing all the time around town.
I am glad i grew up..when i did...in the 60's...and 70's.Everyfhing was normal...no pc's...no smart phones...just kids...being kids.
I feel sorry for our youth!!!

Open Range, I think thats actually a crime now :confused:as kids playing in the REAL WORLD we learned
common sense, if you fall out of a tree and no one is around you better have a plan, but now somehow
its the parents fault ?

Like he said ^^^ most teenagers don't know how to communicate with each other face to face. My daughter Lopin is doing a $5000. Dale Carnigee course that my dad is paying for. She is finding out now that's she's 21 what it takes in life to be successful. When he offered I thought she would blow him off but she is really looking forward to it.

Very cool! I'm a fan of public speaking. But ... who would listen?

We got kicked out of the house. "Go play outside!"

It wasn't child neglect - sheesh. We always came back for meals, unharmed. *shrug*

And don't think there weren't bad people around the place. We knew who they were before the parents did.

I repeat - sheesh.

:hmmmm:

Still have my Commodore 64
BTW We sent men to the Moon on computers with less
the Apollo Guidance Computer, which weighed 70 pounds, had only 36K of RAM and 2K of ROM.

Great! Sold my Amiga 4000 with cyberstorm 060 for a few years ago. Got back my money and then some from the deal. But man I wish I had my old Amiga 1200 left. ;)

Do you use your commodore any? Saw there was a new documentary about them a while back.

Never even heard of an Amiga, ha! if I had kids, I'd force them to do some of the stuff we did as kids, you know, riding bikes, making forts, playing king of the hill, hanging out in the woods, throwing rocks at cars....wait maybe not that last one, ha! I know, I know, easier said than done!

My favorite movie in my teens was dazed and confused. I just think it would be so cool to grow up in that era, it seems like it was the best time to actually EXPERIENCE the world.

Carnigee knew his stuff and he really understood people.

I was forced to go outside and play as well. Little did I know it was because my dad didn't want to go outside and smoke his reefer, so I had to go outside and play .
