Katins's White Widow LED Micro Grow #3

Just checked this quadline thing again. Seems like it takes quite a bit of vertical space, which is at price of gold for me, as I only have like 9-10 inches above the rim... I think I would benefit from something like a mini flux, like vegging as flat as possible as many branches as possible, and then flip.

Haha, yeah, would love to have like 5 or six such cabinets for experiments... :)
I will experiment. This Durban Poison seed has been occupying my thoughts since I received it as a gift from a buddy after my first grow :)

And that was very kind of you :) as folks like me can read and decide what to try and what not. However, until more space for my growing adventures is available, I'll keep trying to master my 2 cubic feet in soil :)
And ofcourse, try and manage a grow without accidentally broken branches... lol

Yeah, actually I did. Not in depth though. Remember myself thinking it may take too long, but now that I see myself veging for 8 weeks I am starting to have second thougts. :) Next run I plan to attempt and squeeze Durban Poison in my box. Might be a good method to try.

It actually only adds about a week extra to the grow. Don’t look at the stuff I’ve done recently. That wasn’t quadlining. The stuff towards the beginning of the journal is quadlining. It’s intention is to keep things low and even for tight spaces. It’s not for everyone but if you are limited on vertical space, it really is a good method. I’ll be starting beans soon and actually quadlining again so maybe tune in for that and see if it might work for future grows.

Cool, give me a shout when you start it, will gladly tag along!
And I was intuitively thinking something similar anyway :) like I noticed 2nd, 3d and 4th nodes are always the strongest in my grows, thought I shall leave 2nd and 3d and spread everything as flat as possible :)

Yeah it's not a revolutionary concept for sure. I do the 3rd and 4th nodes just because I like to start when the fan leaves are going to have 7 points. I read something a long time ago that anything under that can reduce yield due to the plant being mature enough. Also had to do with hormones because of the maturity. So many things on the web you never really know 100% but 3rd and 4th have worked very well for me in the past. Sometimes using 2 and 3 makes the plant too low when you are training it to water effectively but that is if you hand water.

I unfortunately got really busy this summer and I didn't keep my plants tied down. Once they get out of hand it's pretty impossible to fix it. I'll probably pop beans in the next couple weeks so I'll try and remember to stop by and drop ya a line!

Cheers Amy! No, I pinched it off the next day as I noticed it was hanging on a thread, and I don't have the hands of infant surgeon :D so little space there and so much tension around that I figured it is not worth repairing one tiny branch, while risking breaking 5 more :)

Go big or go gome... :ganjamon:

Salvaged a fridge compressor today. Tested it with vacuum gauge, wasn't the most accurate, but gave a reading between -28 and -29 inches of Hg. And that is as close to full vacuum as it gets and I think it will be more than enough for purging BHO and various applications around the crib.

Hiya Katins, she's looking good, nice work as usual.
When she's in full flower, how much headroom will you have in your cab ? If say it's 5", you could try raising your plant now to just a 5" or 6" gap and as it begins to stretch lower it down maintaining the gap all the time. That will give you much more light intensity and you should get better growth during this stage.

Almost time to flip again mr.Katins....lol
Hey Smeegol! Yeah, almost... hate this word.. haha
Not sure, migt take more than a week. Will see how she grows, but I have a feeling that I still have some space to grow a bit wider. Then up, then finally flip :)
