Kanno 26 - 2x ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO - SIP/Soil/80x80 - 2x Purple Queen

Thanks @Jon in my head it works great too we'll see if it does but I think it will go great. I think 200W is optimal and in a week or two it will run at 100% and it will be exactly 300W per queen. We'll see how he does. :headbanger:
Ah…they’ll like 300 watts apiece!

It is fun to watch them grow and get closer to the "X".
Have a relaxing weekend Kanno. 😊

X rated grow here! Nice!
Heh.

Hi @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO fans, I trained the purple queen a bit today to align her a bit under the "X" and I think it worked out pretty well. When it gets a little bigger, I'll finally start attaching it to the "X". Today she received 2L watering in the soil and 2L in the tank. Today is the end of week 7 in vegetables and this is what it looks like after training.

It’s gonna work!!

Hello fellow growers, I'm here with another update on the purple queen which is doing better and better and is starting to spread beautifully all over the tent. The only problem is that my half-moon bends don't work very well, but you'll see for yourself. Actually they only stretched a bit and they go from happy to no good for me but what I'm starting to like is the "X" from @Jon it will work great today I attached four branches to the crisis and we'll see what happens.

It's really thick :headbanger:

Otherwise, the XS1500 PRO runs great and the queen loves it, and so far it's only at 75%, but I'm already thinking that I'll run both of them at 100%. What do you think about it?

Great work @Kanno26! Yeah it looks like it’s going to work great. You might want to try to begin to spread the branches in between the X lines out as wide as you can to try and fill that entire space. It can easily be done from below by anchoring into the dirt, bbq skewers with plant twisties taped to them or something similar. It’ll work fine without doing that, but you’ll end up with an X shaped canopy vs a full 3x3 canopy, if that makes sense. As far as the light, as long as you’re in veg, if it’s working well at 75%, I personally would keep it there and crank it to 100% when you flip, but that just me.

Great job Kanno.

Thanks a lot @Jon, I'll try to find something to anchor them to and figure something out. Otherwise, @ViparSpectra works great at 75% and when I throw them into the flower, I'll give 100%. Thanks

Right, as @Jon says, this issue you'll soon be dealing with is how to keep the branches in between the ropes from going vertical too soon and becoming dominant. Finding a way to tie them down will work, but I use Fishing weights aka "Constant Weight Training " a la @Hafta .

Hi everyone, I'm here with another update on the purple queen, I've started my ninth week in the veg and I'm noticing a bit of trouble on a few leaves what do you think?
IMG_20230509_091928.jpg

The only thing I notice is that she started drinking a little less, but it seems strange to me that I could somehow spill the SIP, but otherwise she looks quite good.

What do you think of her? She looks a little tired when I look at her. Thanks everyone for stopping by.

Hi Kanno, she does look a little unhappy. I had a calcium def in my SIP grow. Those spots may indicate that.? I started using cal/mag in the SIP water (i'm in LOS). I forget how you feed and what kind of soil you're in? I hope others have insight for this. Check out the links in my signature for similarities and a possible cure.

Hi @StoneOtter, it's in soil and I put calmag in the reservoir and otherwise water over the substrate.

There seems to be some uncertainty about whether or not calcium needs to be delivered from the top since it is so heavy and gradually falls on its own thru the soil column.

Maybe try your cal-mag water from the top and see if that makes a difference?

The purple queen looked a little dejected, hope it recovers quickly like you.

Hello all growers, I'm back and the purple queen has leveled up. I let it dry and gave it a good rinse with clean PH adjusted water and I think that helped it. Today she is at the end of 9 weeks in vegetables and I will switch her to flower today. I ran the @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO at 100% power and we'll see what that does to it. Here are some photos.
