Justin Goody's Sponsored Journal: Featuring NextLight & Dope Seeds Gelato & Zkittlez

I’m still having trouble getting the cure just right. I have had good results a couple times but have yet to perfect my process.
In the days before Bovedas, I used to just dry them to crispy, then into jars hoping some of that moisture would come back. I occasionally got some amazing tasting weed, but most of it was just pretty good. I really had no idea what I was doing and much like a flush I was guided by broscience.
I could generally grow like a mofo, but finished product has become much more important in the past year or 2. It used to be an afterthought. As long as I had the weed, the drying wasn't that important. But OHH was I wrong.
Anyone can cook, but I want to be (insert favorite chef name here) the Gordon Ramsay of drying. :yummy:

Caught up! Justin that harvest! Congrats <3

Hey, did you make that tesseract? If you want, google 'bathsheba 3D models' They've got some cool math realized in 3D printed desk swag. Also did you make your plant label stake things? The wood ones? They look really nice.
I did not, I just bought one already made ;) Though a 3D printer is on my wishlist of things to get this year, and I look forward to all the cool stuff I can make.
No, I got it on AMZ, just like those plant tags/stakes.
They were like a 30 pack, some plastic, some bamboo. Really cheap, and look nice enough.
Thanks for the kind words and glad you made it here to catch up.
Also congrats on your Ph OTM win!

I do like me some cooking shows. And I feel the same way. I want to perfect it. A masterpiece.
@Carcass got me started on slower drying when I first laid eyes on his autoflower stash jars about 18 months ago. I had no idea about keeping humidity above 62, etc. for curing. Like @Emilya will mention too, if you let it dry down into the 50's, the cure is OVER. All you have is dry weed left.
While I like my final product to be more like 59-60% for storage, bringing it down to that level slowly has been a HUGE improvement on taste and potency.
Had to get past the fear of mold and commit to checking, burping them multiple times a day for a while. Now it feels like clockwork, but for a while it felt weird (I had been doing it wrong for many years) and it's really easy and lazy to just dry it to crispy.
This bud is too nice, these genetics deserve better than that. So do our lungs. I can smoke WAY more well cured weed. Take out ALL that harshness and chlorophyll taste and it suddenly become much more pleasurable to inhale all day!

These 3 are all upright and checking in

looks like I’m going to have an early outdoor Zkittlez plant this year ;)

Learning to dry and cure is huge. For any newer growers out there, don’t skip that subject when you’re browsing the site
Agreed, that is what separates the fire from the mids. I believe it’s “grow for show, and cure for dough”. Or something like that.

Glad to see the youngins standing tall, Justin!

Everyone is taking hold and the @GeoFlora Nutrients are already waiting to do their magic down below.
This is my first Auto grow with these nutes and I’m happy to be sailing into it confidently now that I’ve tested them a bit on my other grow.
Microbes and Organic nutrients are already working hard in these GeoPots

Happy looking trio...if they had faces, I'm sure they'd be smiling....

I don’t ask much of them this first week but to stay upright, these are strong and happy. This is my first auto grow (or any grow) where the seedling is going STRAIGHT into the soil with nutes already there waiting.
I was worried until I saw how forgiving they are while transplanting in my other grow. And if these nutes can have a seedling pop straight into them, that’s looking like a good bet for fast auto growth.

Well she wasn’t quite THAT big but not too shabby, either.

About 7.5oz give or take, once it’s dry.
Solid results.
Everyone who has been near her lately has commented on smell before they even saw her. She’s a winner in my book.

Thank You @Dope-Seeds and @NextLight for a fabulous first experience.
I loved it so much I’m doing it again!
Well a pleasant surprise with the Zkittlez- all dried and trimmed (kinda) and jarred it was actually 8.5 oz rather than the expected 7.5-
That makes this close to my second best ever crop (auto) and a really good return (238g from 1032g) and damn what a smell!

Early smoke report coming soon, probably lol

Maybe the Gelato is more confused by the umlaut over its name than the Zkittlez is?

Congrats on the excellent haul! And I noticed that the C-rated Zkittlez had its final letter demoted to an S. Seems a bit harsh but you do you. :cheesygrinsmiley:
It was a tad bit larfy in that jar, I’m not gonna lie. That S was subconscious though. Smells amazing and it will make great rosin. No demotion, just repurpose.

As for these ladies, everyone seems to be in order

Geoflora seems to be jiving well with these auto starts that went straight into their 5g, with the soil already amended.
I’m happy to cross another thing off the list with GF. The one in the solo cup with be my first outdoor auto, she’s getting moved pretty quick into her spot.
