Just wow!

I just priced that extract craft turbo device and it’s pretty pricy, but Im thinking about pulling the trigger. Is that something I can use trim on for a practice run or does it need to be nuggets to make a strong tincture? @Nunyabiz
It was rather pricey but considering you recover 95+% of the alchohol that cost over $100 a gallon then within a year it will pay for itself because you aren't wasting about $20 worth of alchohol every batch.

Kinda depends on your trim, if it's a lot of sugar leaf. I used the stems of my last plant because it was loaded with oil.
But in general you're going to want to use bud for good Tincture.

This plant was exceptionally oily though, every stem starting about 1 foot from the ground was totally covered in trichomes and about every leaf smaller than the palm of my hand was covered.

So anything covered in trichomes even stems will make good Tincture, but if it's just big leaves with no trichomes then you wont get much.

Had to have me some of that extract machine LOL. got my Extract craft source on the way. Can't wait to play with it.
It's a great little tool, you'll like it.
Much easier to make high quality oil and tinctures with.
Can also make your own essential oils.

You really need to get a Buchner Funnel and fast and slow filters and about a 2 to 3' piece of tubing so you can filter the alchohol far better.

You also wont blow up your kitchen now.

MagicCal butter machines will make tinctures and they are running about $100 now a days . That extract craft ...mixed feelings about it ..I almost bought one to make rso. ( reclaim the alcohol ) but a water distiller was 1/10 of the price . I don't know how the extract craft infuses the tincture , I thought it was more for extracting , but look into the butter machine , or the Levo oil infuser ..half the cost . Namaste!

Theres actually a pretty big difference between a Source Turbo and MBM.
The MBM is just an infuser, does zero extraction in any way.
Basically it's no different than just dumping your weed into a pot with butter on the stove top and not sure how it can make a tincture unless maybe you can just infuse the weed into glycerin which I guess is a tincture.

A distiller is closer but it works both under high heat at least 175 degrees and not under vacuum.
And good luck running just an ounce of weed to make a small batch of Tincture in a large pot distiller, those are for running like 2 or 3 POUNDS of shit weed.
The oil from an ounce you would lose about half just trying to get it out of the big pot.
The EST works under a vacuum so only needs about 100 degrees, just over body temp to boil off the alchohol which means it doesn't lose the terpenes and flavonoids and makes a much higher quality oil/tincture.

The EST makes Tincture by simply stopping the extraction while theres the amount of alchohol left in it that you want, I prefer just enough to where there is very little if any alchohol burn when placed under the tongue.

Its virtual lab quality extraction.

Thanks for that explanation !
I have zero idea how that extract craft works and your explanation is really helpful !

No thread but I use a Extractcraft Source Turbo so it's super easy.
If you dont have one then it's a bit of a PIA but you can do it.

For me I just mix and match what cultivars I want, make up an ounce, break it all up into fairly small pieces, decarboxylate it in a quart jar with lid on at 225 degrees for 65 minutes.
Let that cool for a few minutes and dont open the jar when it cools it will pop in the lid on the jar and vacuum seal it.
Put in the freezer on the coldest setting your freezer has overnight along with 650ml of 200 proof alchohol in another jar.
Next day, pour 350ml of alcohol into the weed jar and push the weed into the alcohol and give a good swirl about every 15 minutes for an hour.
Take off lid, put a single layer of cheese cloth over the opening and screw on the outer ring over cheese cloth and drain into a measuring cup.
Pour the rest of the 300ml alchohol into the weed for a second wash and swirl every 15 minutes while the first batch is running which is about 2 hours.
I take the first wash and run that 3x through a Buchner Filter Funnel, 2x through a fast filter and 1x through a slow/fine filter.
Pour that into the Source Turbo crucible and turn it on and wait until it gets to about the consistancy of warm maple syrup, not thick not thin.
And keep in mind it will slightly thicken once cooled so err slightly on the thinner side this will give you a strong Tincture.
It should be such that when you put a couple drops under your tongue that you should just barely feel a slight alchohol burn, very slight.
If you took it off too soon then the 200 proof alcohol will burn your ass right up, be about like putting a hot ember out of the fireplace under your tongue.
Too late and basically have hash oil.

I then suck up the Tincture with the little dropper from the 15ml Infinity dropper bottles that I put it in, 1 ounce of bud usually fills that bottle to about 60% full with nice Tincture.
This last both my wife and I about a month.
We each have about 5 to 6 drops a day.
Nunya...I will definitely reread this tomorrow. Thanks.

I would hope you have a clone of that plant. That is wild looking.
Nope, never mess with cloning.
That's a Honey Peach CBD autoflower.
It was indeed wild looking.
I did no training on it at all just let her go and it grew from 2" tall to over 6' tall in 24 days.
No big buds on it, but it was absolutely covered in small buds and everything from 1' off the ground to the top was covered in trichomes, every stem and most every leaf.
Couldn't touch it anywhere without getting mired up in oil.

I’d pull the trigger on one now but I got a stubborn B!tch of a car sitting in the shop having its engine and gearbox tore apart and until I can get that back I don’t want to do any unnecessary spending... let us now how it does though because I really want to See how it’s done and what final product looks like.

I bought one , so I'll see first hand what the difference is late next week ...hope it isnt an $800 gimmick! Any tips or tricks ? :) namaste ! Do you use 710 or alcohol?

I use Extractahol thats pure 200 proof.
You have to use at least 190 proof.

I would also get a Buchner funnel so you can filter out all impurities very easily under vacuum.

I got mine for $480 on sale in December.

I'm curious. I don't particularly need hash oil. I was hoping on making a oil for capsules to use at night. If I were to add a edible oil to the tincture before reducing the alcohol. Wouldn't that leave me with a oil I could put into capsules?

Yes, you can make anything you like.
Tincture, hash oil, cannabis oil mixed with olive oil, shatter, wax, etc.

Shatter? I was wondering about what happens to the oil once all the alcohol is out. When I made it the old fashion way with evaporation. All I ended up with was oily goo. Smoked great but wasn't as easy to handle as shatter.

At least my main idea will work. I can get with user's and find out all the fine points later. I can make shatter now but would rather not have to mess with it if I don't have too. I have a friends wife that only does concentrates in a vaporizer. Either way the end product should work in a vaporizer. I just want it easy for them to handle. They are not true dabbers LOL.

I got the package deal with lots of extra stuff. Can't wait to play with it.
