How are you finding the first nodes in SIP pots generally Jon? My first SIP has all her first nodes. Kind of interesting. For you stem junkies out there….
Hey @StoneOtter - well, I’m not doing any SIP. My bucket grows are coco up top and water below when the roots get through the bottom. But in the buckets, I find I get pretty serious production from the first node. Especially the dominant side. I am pretty close to permanently deciding that chopping the first node is useful depending on what you’re going for, but ideally I want to keep it cuz it rocks. Ie, the first node being unproductive is a complete myth. How are you finding the first nodes in SIP pots generally Jon? My first SIP has all her first nodes. Kind of interesting.
Thanks @InTheShed - no I really did. And now I can see she’s only around 6. The buds are dense and sweet as hell, but each individual one is a little on the short side. I’m not sold on finishing filling the screen with the stretch. That’s what I did this time. It doesn’t allow for enough stem under each cola. Next time I’m going to fill completely THEN flip. Betcha I get a lot more stem and bud that way. Thanks! And right back at you on the harvest. I lurked in your journal this morning.Congratulations on that amazing harvest Jon! No way you thought that was a 3-4 ounce plant unless you were only ever looking at one corner of it.
Btw - this will maybe be the easiest trim ever. This plant is made for the easy trim. Thanks @InTheShed - no I really did. And now I can see she’s only around 6. Thanks @StoneOtter - It’s true, but that’s gotta wait like three weeks. I’m not gonna waste a joint’s worth of this gold before it’s cured a bit. The terpenes are screaming at me to smoke it, but that was strictly tester bud. Tonight I hit trim jail in the hanging buds. Only got six days of dry out of her. Like I said, the buds are dense, but small. They dried more quickly than I expected by a day or two. But they’re ready for trim and jar/burp.That bud in a joint = heaven!
Thanks @StoneOtter ! I can’t tell you how much I love this strain. It’s addictive. Even though it’s low thc (for me, around 20-22% I estimate), it’s the kind of strain that smells and tastes so good you just can’t stop smoking it. The lower thc only facilitates that, lol. So no, it doesn’t smack you in the face upon exhale like a higher thc strain often will. It’s connoisseur weed. The buzz is great. Uplifting, highly mood enhancing, and produces extreme clarity. It comes on subtly and gets more pronounced after a while. And the taste…it just started curing and it already tastes great. In a month it’ll be fabulous. Very happy with Arjan today. Lol!Way to grow Jon!
