WOW.

I used to make them out of all sorts of stuff when I was about 16-17. Had a beaut of a perspex one 2ft at straight up vertical (plastic) - it will bring back some memories!
I tried my hand at making a stem pipe. I’ll show you the next one. Lmao.

Sativa/Indica Phenotype Comparison

Here’s a couple pictures to show you how consistent the Platinum Mimosa Cookies is. I now know there are two distinct phenos, but before now I’ve always gotten the same one, the sativa pheno. The buds always look the same. They’re smothered in trichomes and almost have a silvery sheen to them. They smell very much like Super Silver Haze. Sharp, tart, bites at your nose a little. Opening the jar is a dream for your olfactory senses. I can’t review this batch, but I’ve smoked it often and it’s an amazing high. Super focused, super clarity, tastes great, smooth smoke. I love it.

So this is the last one I grew, two grows ago I think.

And this is the one you guys just saw harvested.

Pretty much the same bud. Identical in shape and appearance, smell and taste. Either could have been in either grow and I wouldn’t know the difference, although this batch is much denser than I usually get from this plant.

Here’s a bud of the indica pheno and a bud of the sativa pheno side by side. Way different in every way. Literally two entirely different buds.

The indica buds smell way sweet, cotton candy is all I can smell. It’s strong, although the sativa smells stronger. The two smells are so different it’s insane. The indica buds are denser and tighter. The sativa buds are fluffy dense - like magic eraser dense. The indica buds are rocks. Both yielded close to the same. And color wise, the indica looks like a classic purple indica, where the sativa is more like little silver pillows.

I’m very happy I got both phenos, having never gotten any variation. The indica is lovely. The sativa is as expected. Both are awesome smoke.

Not tempted me. Not at all. 😅
Hold on and resist the temptation. lol

Looks delicious, Nice harvest!

It was time for the most important bud distribution project of the entire grow.

Heh. Yes, you do want these jars.

I assume any of us who sometimes give weed to various friends for trade or whatever do this or something similar, right?

So I sent my drummer a picture of the first four buds. This is my drummer who is not a grower. I took the pictures on my table under a lightbulb. He says, they all look the same. I said WHATTTT???? Then I realized he needed a lit up picture to see the colors. I sent him this, and he lost his mind.

Very nice Jon.

Here’s a bud of the branch I took early from Watermelon Wedding Cake #2. You can see I took it too early - it had densing up and closure to go yet, which has been happening now on her. Glad I didn’t take more.

You guys see the nubbin at the top? I’ve learned this is how they finish fattening. They’ll look done. Then they’ll pop a nubbin. Then the nubbin fills in. This bud is not filled in. And the others have nubbined twice for me since the early branch was taken!

It’s just my observational data, not as if I read it somewhere.
However, here’s a few examples…I circled the nubbin. These come up and then fill in the sides of the triangle (if you will). At least on some strains/phenos. Obviously on pointy spear buds like the Apple Fritter you won’t get these. But I often do on hybrids. This seems to happen several times in the final fattening stage. I won’t take a plant any longer if they have nubbins like this. Means to me not done yet. For what it’s worth!
