Jon's Dedicated Fruity Pebble Cookies Grow Plus The Mystery Plant

Lol I won't tear it apart. I will say the Mimosa Lemon looks great. It's next to a 'full spectrum' ViparSpectra, maybe that's helping out. About a foot away. Do you think I should raise my light higher than what they suggest if I run both veg and flower?
When you kick in both the heat will rise a little bit and the wattage will increase a bit. You should position your light accordingly. If it were me I'd have it at around 18" at this point and try it there. Not sure what height it's at now?

Jack Herer Auto on 4/20
Day 28

A classic strain and one of the most awarded in history expressing herself on the 28th day of her life above ground. The simplicity of the outdoor rig, the space she is afforded there, and the blurple powering her, in concert with the current outdoor environment in these parts, all seem to be agreeing with her so far. As does her sort of hodgepodgey nute mix. For those keeping score....
She's in a pot of 2/3 Sohum and 1/3 50/50 Sohum/spent soil blend. All of this is augmented with bokashi and frass. All of it is periodically fed with Fox Farms Microbe Brew only. So far in veg she has been top dressed with GeoFlora nutes twice, on day 14 and yesterday, at about half the recommended dosage. Her watering regimen has included at times; Fox Farms Kelp Me Kelp You, CalMag plus Iron, Easy Weed Seaweed Supplement, MSA, and fresh worm casings right out of my little worm container when the worms were gone.

Perfect strain to show a closeup of on 4/20. Sure wish I had some now to smoke. Lol! This girl ought to start showing pre-flowers and pistils shortly. The Zkittlez has sprouted a few as of this morning. Of course the longer she waits the better, so I hope I don't see them for another week!

I turned the light off for the picture. This is how much ambient sunlight she gets at this time of day on top of the blurple. LOL.

Happy 4/20 Everyone!

Same to you Mucker! I'm celebrating properly and responsibly, yes. Lol. And you're probably right about the Jack. Can't wait to smell that Jack smell.

Three Canopies on Day 4 of Flower

First up is the canopy on the Mystery Plant.
This girl is getting a lot bigger than I expected (well, I really didn't know what to expect with this one, lol) and is taking up more space than I really want her to. The stems are getting a little heftier, they might support buds after all. Lol. She remains quite the curious plant.

Then we have the reasonably attractive girl Elora. I dig her canopy tons. And you can't really tell in the picture, but she's gigantic.

Of course, gigantic is all relative. I think her sister Fulvia here might beg to differ with the use of that term.

So far the rogues are under control and I have had to do minimal canopy work. I did deflarf under both plants a little bit again, just tiny stragglers that constantly spring up. I'm going to stay on top of that this time and eliminate it as I see it.

Almost Friday! Anyone else see Joel Embiid hit the Shot Heard 'Round the World last night? There has never been a 7 foot center in the NBA who could hit that shot. Not Kareem, not Wilt, certainly not Shaq....none of them. This dude is beyond skilled and the fact that anyone else is even in the discussion for MVP is a joke. Heh.

:adore:

TITAN
Day 45

Doesn't seem as if she's going to stretch a whole lot more. Buds are beginning to actually form now. Both the @Prescription Blend nutrients and the @NextLight 420h have performed spectacularly with this plant. She loves them both, and so do I. Based on these pictures, in about a week or ten days this plant is going to look like a bud factory working overtime. It's really quite ridiculous for an auto and it's got me wondering if the XL and Double XL auto thing may actually be as advertised. It sure seems too easy - if all you have to do to get plants like this from every auto is increase the amount (%) of photoperiod genes and decrease the amount (%) of ruderalis genes, why aren't more autos bred to become huge like this? I checked out the Growers Choice catalog and they have several other strains of auto in the XL and Double XL categories. I'm going to have to check out another one and see if I get similar growth results and similar vast amount of time before beginning flower. It is possible that this growth is only due to the coco medium and constant feeding, and the XL/Double XL thing is total crap - that's not lost on me. So we'll try another.

Here is a scale picture of the tent, featuring a nice shot of the 420h powering this girl.

Here's a closeup of the tops.

This is the lower ring action.

And here's a shot of how the branches are stacking.

Pop one in soil and see the difference. XS hehe
BTW when you water to run off it draws fresh air into the coco.
Thus replenishing the air every time you water.
But run your experiment, that's how we learn.:thumb:
Hope your good Mucker.

Stay safe

That's a nice way of saying 'you're wrong.' Lol. I hear you on that Bill. I just think there's a difference between that "kind of air" and "actual air" to the roots. So far it hasn't screwed anything up. We'll see. I've only let it dry twice the whole grow.

Yeah, I know, but maybe they get proportionally in soil just as big compared to non-XL autos. I don't know. I'm having fun finding out though.

Poke away, Bill! I may well BE wrong. I hope when I do something REALLY stupid you'll tell me so. Note that I said when, not if. Lol.

The Rest of the Gang on 4/21
Jack Herer auto Day 29
Zkittlez auto Day 29
Spent Soil Plant ?

The spent soil girl
has responded well to getting a taste of the veg nute runoff from the coco plants. Note her improved color. Other than an extremely slow rate of growth, which I attribute to her lack of good sun most of the day and the constant wind that's buffeting her, she's a very healthy plant. Almost has her third node out. Lol.

Here's the Zkittlez auto.
She's going to flower, starting to shoot pistils and generate those thin little leaves up top. I will give her a shot of GeoFlora Bloom nutes with her next watering. All the other growth has been removed from this plant, with the goal of getting exactly and only 8, equal-sized buds. I want to see what happens when you don't allow any extraneous growth except for the colas you're focusing on.

And here's our Jack Herer auto,
who is a hottie. This girl is not yet going to flower, and I'm going to say what the hell and later today top all her side branches. She's begging for it. There's six of them that are quite viable for it in a few more hours when I have enough stem to do it. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to leave the two mains or top them too. Probably the latter.

That'll do it for today's garden shots. Damn I'm an overposter. Heh.

You have a lot going on!

And it all looks great! :thumb:

I’m pulling for your little outside girl - I bet she won’t be little for long.
:meatballs:
Thanks, Felipe! I'm pulling for her too, but I have one advantage, which is that I can clearly see that she is growing in a bed that's about two inches deep before it hits almost straight sand. There's a scant possibility that I intentionally try to not show that reality in the pics. So either her roots, including her tap root, have to grow sideways towards the mass of the pile where there's mountains of dirt, or pretty soon she's going to run out of options and begin to show compromise. Least that's my guess. Lmao.

Yes, I have considered (and damnit, continue to...) digging her out and moving her five feet to have all the soil in the world. But if I do that she will definitely get big enough to not blend into the front yard landscape so much. I might do it anyway though. It would be a nice farewell fu-k you to the neighborhood, which they very much need and deserve.

In the words of Dr Malcolm: “Life finds a way”

Ya know, in the wild, soil isn’t always very thick and plants have adapted to this. I have seen cannabis roots spread out pretty far laterally - 5 feet is certainly possible - and most are not very deep (<1 foot).

I've done some pretty stupid things in my garden and life.

But can you say that you've gotten your balls caught in the gears of a copier while trying to make a Xerox of your Johnson? Farside05 holds up hand

And this thread has now officially become anything goes apparently.....well okay then. I stopped trying to control it a while back. Way to take it up a notch or seven, @farside05, I was wondering when it was going to get serious.
