The Problem with Phenotypes

A simple problem with only one solution: clones.

The problem is, you grow two of the same strain. You get two distinctly different phenos. Both are fabulous. But one is significantly MORE fabulous. Therein lies the rub. If you’re someone like me, the above reality makes me look at the less superior pheno like it’s garbage I don’t even wanna smoke.

I force myself to though, somehow finding a way to muddle through.

Today I went to each spot where I topped a branch and now have two buds side by side. Since she stopped stretching so quickly (this strain doesn’t, much) the topped branches did not develop longer stems, so the buds are packed together side by side in pairs in several spots. This is the sixth plant of this I have grown. I’ve learned this strain a little. So I know that when the buds get fatter the closeness can create too much humidity, ie bud rot. So now I know to trim the leaf between the buds. Ha!

This is Titan’s pot and stem. I just broke it off at the base, pulling up as I did so. This is where it broke. Check out the tap roots Titan was working with. No wonder she was so awesome. I’ll take this all day long and twice on Sunday.

This is the same from Elora’s stem. One tap root, not as thick as Titan’s double, but way way more feeder roots from the get go. Interesting.

Looks like this. I’m giddy. This is so clean I can’t believe I pulled it with a lowly Trim Bin. Don’t let the light from the 420h fool you into thinking it has the slightest green, the spectrum is a bit weird in pictures. But in case my words won’t convince you, please reference the closeup in the second picture. Heh.
