Jon705's First Attempt at Organic SuperSoil Featuring TopLED's New COB LED Panel

Wow, nice job indeed by TopLED, and good observations Jon. Initial impressions are this light will blend well with what you've already proven to be a good formula. Most interesting about the differences in perceived strength when comparing eyes with plants too.
yea im pretty impressed with how fast they put these lights together and got them here, I cant wait to see how well they work over the next few months, I think I see a couple more in the near future to replace the hydro suckers:)

Those things look awesome bro!! I had faith when i saw your specs, so I picked up a pair myself, and am super excited. Cant wait to see what you can do with them, and as far as spectrum, i think these are going to flower out some monsters. Maybe they used wide lenses on the Mars 2 to spread the whole spectrum of the white and the Area 51 is more focused with the lenses. Did Sara mention if they used pure white or cool white? Looking good in here, im pulling up a chair!!
Welcome Mike:) thats awesome that you got the same spectrums bro! will you be starting a journal?
Im not sure about the lenses but im looking into it.
As far as I know they used cool white diodes, same as the Area 51 panels:)

Cool...

:hmmm:

No lenses...

Wondering if you can drop closer?

I think they still have lenses bro they're just different than the Helios ones, I think the Helios diodes use the secondary lense to get the angles and the Epistar only use the one lense, some are straight down others are 80 or 90 degree, I actually dont know the angles yet lol.. as for the height im not sure, I ll try them here for awhile and see how they do then play around with them a bit:)

One room to rule them all! Fantastic work Jon, can't wait to see the next round like always. Always lovely looking cannabis.
:Namaste:

Your plants look amazingly happy bro :high-five: the room looks pretty awesome too..
Thanks bro, they got moved around quite a bit, some of the branches are hanging down from getting spun around and rubbing on other plants so I have some more tying to do but not tonight lol

I would like to do a journal if I can find the time, but it's limited right now. Can't wait to get my lights, not sure if Sara sent them out yet or not, but I have some Blue Dream and some Blue OG ready to do their thing. Figured I would wait and do the full flower cycle under the new panels. I'm fully aware these are somewhat test panels, so I'm going to throw everything at them but the kitchen sink and see how they perform. Lol

Better late than never but I'm sub'd. Got some catching up to do I guess :) Reading glasses on :nomo::reading420magazine::nicethread:

What's this "sleep"? I've forgotten what that's like :blalol:

The room is looking awesome bro, but why are you replacing the A51 LED panels rather than those 2 HPS?

I'm pretty sure I could grow right up to mine :)
Mine got really close and I got some pretty gnarly bleaching, and I'm sure it hurt yeilds, I would say not to in particular with the 5watt dies!
Well with the help of a couple friends I got the room switched around...kinda, theres still 2 panels strapped to the ceiling but im exausted lol..and I have to work again tomorrow so this is how its staying for the next 3 weeks, once the plants are down I ll hang the other 2 and clean up all the wiring and move some stuff around, I just gained 2 more feet of core footprint:)

I was gonna ask the same question, lol sleep? What means this word sleep?
I just sleep while I'm driving to work. :snooze:
Sam kinnison said you know your effed up when it makes sense to take a nap while driving lol r.i.p. Sammy

Thanks Hiker:Namaste:I didnt replace the A51's bro I removed one of the 3 hps and moved the area 51 panels back so theres no cross spectruming between the marsII's and the hps, there is now somewhere around 3600w of led and 2000w of hps in there covering a 8 x 16 space:)

Oh I see. You want to keep like panels together. Makes sense. I was just confused the way you talked about only replacing one of the A51 panels :blalol:

Hey Jon not sure what the weather is like out there but how much do you think you'll be using that split system AC once you are all LED? Just curious as I'm doing an all LED set up and I'm not gonna be using any AC I don't think, might even need a heater this winter.

Im actually switching to a passive intake system tonight for the winter, we get both extremes here, -45 in the winter and as high as +40 in the summer, I keep my flower room at 72-75 degrees so I ll still be using it steady, theres 2 dehueys in there too so without the a/c it would still get above 90 degrees in there and im also planning on picking up a co2 burner pretty soon:)

I am but its a tank system, around here we have an exchange program for co2 tanks, they cost 65 bucks a pop and I go through a tank every 12 days, with a burner I can get the same size propane tanks for 20 bucks. Now that I have my room the way I want it its time to fine tune things and make it as efficient as possible, the 2 hps gotta go and the co2 tank system as well.
Looks like my little 4 inch vortex intake fan isnt enough to keep the room cool so first thing on the list is a 8 inch inline fan carbon filter combo so that I can use the existing 6 inch fan as an intake.
