Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

Now that's how you sway my opinion. Great job documenting it Jon, I truly appreciate it.
Now the conundrum- if she wasn't a monster of an XXL genetic- would the energy that she put in growing that six feet of branching for one cola, be better served elsewhere?
I'm open for discussion on it- cause truly I don't know. But I thought it might be a good point to talk about.

I may have to try topping only on a plant to see myself if I get less or more.

I'm really glad that you kept it, I love learning from my mistakes, and you've certainly given me something to think over for my methods moving forward.
Thanks! Wasn’t exactly trying to sway you, I’m learning this stuff on the fly! I’m just very surprised. The question about XXL genetics I don’t know. But regardless it worked out nicely in this case. I just wanted to document it for anyone who ever questioned if you keep the first node as I have: Now to qualify - I doubt I’d ever keep it on a photo. But sometimes with autos if one is not certain how long they’ll have for training it might be prudent to keep a first-noder until they see what else happens? Anyway it’s interesting and since we talked about it there you go! Thanks again.

Hey buddy sorry I fell behind, hit a speed bump.
That pkg should b there any minute.
I've got 300 messages to check.
I'll catch up soon.

Oh I was wondering about that. Ok cool. No problem @Bill284, I haven’t been barely outside of here lately. You and I exist beyond time-based boundaries my friend, no worries.

I know, and that's the best part. I needn't be pulled to see logic, and it's also why I asked you to keep an eye on it...cause I'm truly interested/intrigued.

Spent a little too much time in the greenhouse after trying to cut the lawn.
Didn't work well in my favor.
Not brightest of my days. ;)

So I raised the light. It worked. I can get no closer, but his makes a huge difference and allowed me to crank up the light to around 55-60%.

Here’s what we have now.

I agree with Rexer. What you're doing is not only intriguing, but innovative. I'm beyond impressed regardless of the outcome. Keep keepin' us on our toes Jon...

I reread your queries, @Rexer, and when considering your question maybe consider this - it’s not just six feet of energy/growth used for ONE cola. If that were the case, it would obviously (to me) be a waste of energy, I think you’d agree. But it’s really supporting four for sure, maybe five (hard to see back there, lol) colas. All of which are part of the main scrog. So if one looked at it proportionally, is 4 colas out of the total number of them worth the six feet of growth? That may be different eh? Very interesting discussion, thanks Rex.

Thanks @Thirvnrob, glad you’re along for the ride!

Day 55

How about one more fan for the scrog trick?

This gives me a constant corner to corner stream of air through the lowest part of the scrog. In the picture, above the new “screen fan” you can see the bottom of the clip of the upper fan, which gives me constant oscillating air across the top of the canopy. I’m now completely covered and then some above the screen and also below with the small fan facing up in each corner. All of these fans are on low. Any of them individually on high blows the leaves more than I want, but all six of them working in concert on low gives me supreme air flow and no worry of the wind burn I got last grow from the giant Pelonis beast fan. Nor any kind of excess moisture, rot, or mold. This helps me sleep better at night. Lol.

Take care of yourself brother, I can only imagine how hot it must've been in the greenhouse today and yesterday. Swing by for :surf: - I got a special gift for you.

Great points all around, and when you go to harvest, mark each one from that branch- if it's not too much of a hassle. Don't go out of your way for a curiosity.
But I'm really curious on the total of what that entire branch produces.

Remember those weird "lego" (well thats what I call them) peices for my setup? I finally put them to the use they were designed for. This is my coco 10 gallon outdoor Auto (bbxnl).

I extended the bars a bit further than I need right now to show you. Anyhow...thought you might appreciate the setup.

Ah! Now I see! Wow that’s perfect, especially for outdoors. I’ll be curious how an outdoor auto in coco does. How much do you have to water that girl?

Also Rexer, don’t show this toy to an OCD grower. I can see the potential to get lost with it.:rofl::rofl:

Thanks, whenever I remember to open the app and click on the button to turn the pump on  - so far at least twice a day minimum till run off. She seems to be as happy as can be with it, I also made sure to layer the coco with perlite, frass, bokashi Pro-Gro, stepwell compost tea, and stepwell grow (dry ammendment). Pretty much Bill284 method.

Yup- there's a reason i bought them and ordered extra lego pieces :rofl:

I really don't remember to be honest, I spent a lot (or what felt like a lot to me)...i went and got the whole setup as top notch as I could..lights, tent, and full Bucket Company setup (scrogg, run off pump, manifolds, lego peices, etc).
I think though it was just the tax though to get it across the border?

Depends on what it’s for and who shipped it UPS is automatically $50 just to cross the border

Yup, I cringe each time I see it's UPS. I've had orders where the UPS "brokerage" fees came up to more than the order....but when it's not available locally, whatcha gonna do?

Yes sir when I ordered water cooling parts for my computer which I never did use I ended up paying twice the amount after duties and everything

If UPS standard is the only option, go elsewhere ;)

Now if it is UPS Expedited, there are no additional charges....

Cheers
