Jandre2k3's Maternity Ward Purple OG #18

re: Jandre2k3's Maternity Ward Purple OG #18

Okay, went ahead and added 5ml VitaBlue to a gallon of water. I figure that B vitamins are a great root stimulator, and stress-off, so I will be giving VitaBlue in clear water 0.08EC (56PPM) balanced to 5.8 pH with every watering until I start "Seedling" (or as I call it, 'Weedling').

Oh yeah. you can absolutely start the VitaBlue now. Just use a little though. 5 ml/gallon should be ok depending on what else you are using.
Personally, when I have plants that size, I stick to around 2.5 ml per gallon of the 3 part (each part), then add the 2.5 ml/gallon vitablue. That will be plenty for a few days to a week and they will grow strong root systems. then you can increase. I am very conservative when it comes to fertilization because I have burned up my share of plants trying to push them too hard in the beginning.

Hey! Thanks for answering that! It's a new product for us all and I just wanna make sure I'm using it right.

So I'm okay, starting on "Seedling" schedule on the 3-part Application Guide as well! Very good to know, thank you.

re: Jandre2k3's Maternity Ward Purple OG #18

did the hydroton pinch the stem and cut of its life line?
usually when i first put it in a netpot with hydroton i make sure the stem is clear of any balls doesnt take much and as it grows it usually pushes the balls out of the way
if that makes any sense to you
i dont even know why im saying anything a bunch of you are like mad scientists in here
but sometimes no matter how good or meticulous you are, you can miss something, and usually its so simple in front of your face you cant see it lol
but like i said i dont even know why im saying anything im sure you went through every reason it coulda happened, some of you are just professionals at it lol

Yeah, good thought. But it lived 3 days with the hydroton around it. I did notice that I never saw the tap root at all. normally on these 1.5" seed starters, I see a tap root about a day after the cotyledons emerge from the top. never happened.

I may be the culprit though. *I* might have killed it. I watered it again when I saw it wilting the day before it had laid down. so it actually got three waterings that day instead of the usual two. Over watering a seedling can cause damping off.
