Yeah I'm late also. We have some money makers that I want to start in the next month or so. Going to read over this to see how they grow. Looks like it turned out well for ya.

If you were going to do 5 gal I wouldn't put them in 3 gal first because it would be a pain to transplant from 3-5 gal in my opinion I think it just depends on how big you want the plants bigger pot= bigger roots= bigger plant... So if you are pushing for bigger yields and have the space I would say definitely go with 5 gal... I almost got 7 gal pots but they were at least twice the cost of 5 gal

i chopped the last girl yesterday before light on. I went ahead an defoliated and manicured her for the most part. But i left everything on the stalk and got it hanging between the table again. But no fans blowing anywhere. I will keep a close eye on it and jar sooner this time. My last got too dry. Im hoping to do this one perfect. Plant was very sticky. I wish i would have took more pictures but i was trying to get it done in a somewhat hurry. I had to chop the last plant, take the screen out, clean the tent real good. And put new plants in there. There unfortunately some yellow sugar leaves that couldnt get manicured out. So its not the best looking, but so sticky and stinky. Im not selling any of it so as long as its good, im happy. Here are some pictures
ill get a dry weight to ya in a few days or so. Hopefully 5 or more.
Here is the root ball ... Gotta love the fab pots
dirty fab pots
after i brushed it off with a cleaning brush
i then just threw them in the washer.
Ill post again when i have everything jarred and curing.
Nice job on the grow man. I've been keeping tabs on it before you started to flower them. Awesome job for your first time! As for your question up top there about the 3 vs 5 gal pots. I've heard people argue you don't need the bigger pots but I say go for it. I would probably wait till about a week or two before you switch to 12/12 to transplant. This will give them a bit more room and some fresh nutes in the soil too. Just my 2 cents. Nice job man. My only advice, and its just from learning the hard way, is to keep things similar enough to your last grow so you can really start to dial in what works and what doesn't. changing one or two things here and there. I changed everything up like three times in a row and it made it hard for me to start to get it right.
As for my last Lemon Skunk I have hanging, Im keeping a close eye on it. i dont have any fans going right now so hopefully it will take longer than last time and I can catch it before it gets too dry. She looks like she will be about the same as the rest in weight. Maybe on the lower side, but Idk. Before chop she looked like the biggest one in there. So Im hoping for another 2zzs or more.
Hey buddy's I was curious what kind of airstone you use when your bubbling your nutes Tokampstra gave me an air pump this weekend and I just need to pick up some tubing and an airstone which I'll probably purchase off the internets... I also need to do a decent sized update on my journal I've just been lazy the last couple of days we will see if I get it done today after work...
