I am trying to pH adjust my expanded clay stuff. Put them in water pH'ed to 4.0 with Cannazym to dissolve the old roots. Hoping that will make it easier to keep the pH right. Noticed with Leca that pH just keeps raising no matter how much pH minus I add to the reservoir. The leca I bought at a local garden center had a pH of 11!!! Insane right? Then I bought some more expensive clay pellets from the hydro shop. But even those were pH'ed to 7.5. Not cool. And to wash 300-400 liters of that stuff - not cool either.
Hey dobewanGlad to have you on board for the group flip, Iti. We're a little coco-heavy at the moment so it's great to have another soil grower joining!
Hey Bob. I dont have the space/time to hang and dry..... Maybe someday . . First I seen the cold feet and I was like.... "spot on bob" but it was a weird spot to get cold... on the side where both my tents are together. I'll be raising up any girls off the floor this time anyway... don't need cold feetDeville,
There's soil microbes breaking down the old roots (AKA composting).. dig out some soil and put it in a tub and put your hand it it. You should feel the soil is slightly warm to the touch.. the microbes will regulate the PH. Without a live plant to tell the microbes what they need thru root exudate, then the microbes begin to eat up the roots that are there instead of eating the root exudate. The root exudate is how the soil PH gets naturally regulated and why you see spiking or a lot of changes without live plants in place (it happens with live plants too). Decomposition likely is more acidic in nature and why I would suggest is the reason for Peat Moss to be acidic. Something has to help break down soils and rocks.. acids are a good one. Bacteria can generate them. Food for thought!
Suggest not to worry about PH ... unless full on hydro. Just test water going in.
Iti... your VEG plants and flowers look amazing.
Those plants with the taco ... could be cold feet (roots). Put your hand on the floor over by where those plants with the taco leaves are, could be cold temp related.
Winter time.. prolly cold over there. Can grow some Indica in that spot and watch the colors go wild! They love the bright lights and the cold...
Congrats on your harvest... yay buddy!
Looking sa-weet... I wait to trim until flowers dry.. easier on my neck back and hands, just sayin... and it ain't that easy. Good job bud! time to puff!
