Iti's Winter Frost With Mars Hydro

Glad to have you on board for the group flip, Iti. We’re a little coco-heavy at the moment so it’s great to have another soil grower joining!

I am trying to pH adjust my expanded clay stuff. Put them in water pH'ed to 4.0 with Cannazym to dissolve the old roots. Hoping that will make it easier to keep the pH right. Noticed with Leca that pH just keeps raising no matter how much pH minus I add to the reservoir. The leca I bought at a local garden center had a pH of 11!!! Insane right? Then I bought some more expensive clay pellets from the hydro shop. But even those were pH'ed to 7.5. Not cool. And to wash 300-400 liters of that stuff - not cool either.

Deville,

There's soil microbes breaking down the old roots (AKA composting).. dig out some soil and put it in a tub and put your hand it it. You should feel the soil is slightly warm to the touch.. the microbes will regulate the PH. Without a live plant to tell the microbes what they need thru root exudate, then the microbes begin to eat up the roots that are there instead of eating the root exudate. The root exudate is how the soil PH gets naturally regulated and why you see spiking or a lot of changes without live plants in place (it happens with live plants too). Decomposition likely is more acidic in nature and why I would suggest is the reason for Peat Moss to be acidic. Something has to help break down soils and rocks.. acids are a good one. Bacteria can generate them. Food for thought!

Suggest not to worry about PH ... unless full on hydro. Just test water going in.

Iti... your VEG plants and flowers look amazing.

Those plants with the taco ... could be cold feet (roots). Put your hand on the floor over by where those plants with the taco leaves are, could be cold temp related.

Winter time.. prolly cold over there. Can grow some Indica in that spot and watch the colors go wild! They love the bright lights and the cold...

Congrats on your harvest... yay buddy! :high-five:

Looking sa-weet... I wait to trim until flowers dry.. easier on my neck back and hands, just sayin... and it ain't that easy. Good job bud! time to puff!

Just finished up a bunch of stuff.... Everything trimmed, tent washed out, small revamp, just waiting on my pre filter to finishing getting washed. Ended up with a decent haul... got a crap load of popcorn and good trimmings... time to get the bubble bags going... not sure how much... will put pics up when I get it sorted out drying.

Gotta get everything turned around and those veggies into flower tonight.

Hey Bob. I dont have the space/time to hang and dry..... Maybe someday . . First I seen the cold feet and I was like.... "spot on bob" but it was a weird spot to get cold... on the side where both my tents are together. I'll be raising up any girls off the floor this time anyway... don't need cold feet

So I've been on the go now for 21 hours... and still got a few to go... Harvest days are long.... but nice to see the rewards... can't wait to taste.

First the bad notes/and things I'll do different...
1. Get rid of hernies.... pretty much everything got beans... I ended putting alot of small buds that were full of beans in the trim bucket.
2.my defoling wasn't as befincial... have to see on the weight total

If anyone wants to take a stab at the final weight (buds).

Okay here's the pic dump

If I did not worry about pH, my plants would all die. I am doing hydroponics, not soil.

Well done on the harvest bud, I did 2 plants last night, GG and Strawberry Amnesia. The harvesting is initially exciting but after the first plant I wish it were done. Anyway, hope the smoke is just as good as the journal .

My stab at final weight is 600 to 700g dry !!
Fuck, I'm probably way off. You gonna have to toke like a steam train to finish up before the next round is ready
Think ya might be swing for the stars Justin .
I fear of running out lol
Hates running out, hopeful I can get some bank going .
Looking great. You got a bucket o buds, and it looks just amazing!
Turned out okay, lots of beans to work through.
