This can go both ways. A lot of people claim it is a weed by saying it is easy to grow. This is somewhat true in the sense that the plant will grow with little effort. This does not mean it will produce anything even close to its potential but it will indeed grow. Some people will plant seeds in miracle grow soil, luck out with a female plant, only give it water throughout the entire outdoor season, and be happy with what they grew. The second these people claim it is easy just tell them to try indoor cultivation. They will realize that it is indeed NOT a weed in the sense that it takes experience and knowledge to grow a healthy cannabis plant that meets it's full potential.

Lots of people refer to it as just a weed because it grows like a weed. Part if the definition of a weed that you left out is aplant with vigorous growth that can easily choke out other plants in competition for sunlight. MJ most definitely does that.
