Is she ready to harvest?

I can't quite tell the clear trichomes apart from the cloudy ones, it's hard to keep my hand steady enough in the air with the x60 loupe... How do you guys do it?
I use a Digital Microscope that has a stand. Cut a Bud off & lay it down & with the Scope on a stand it's much easier. I shake too much to use a loupe also.

I see, but i was told you're supposed to look at all of the buds as they all have different ripeness, so looking at one wouldn't give the whole picture, is this true?
I usually just take one from the middle of the plant. That gives you a pretty close estimate of what it will be like. Once it's all mixed together, it will pretty much be like the bud you took from the center as far as the buzz goes.

A fat foxtail bud will vary so it’s best to use one of the older ones from the middle. CL🍀

Safers End All will kill every type of pests and the adults, larvae and eggs. CL🍀
I've used Dr Bronner's Pure Castile Liquid Soap Unscented. I think it will work the same as Safer's soap.

I used the peppermint but the Safers also has Pyrethrum and it kills the eggs n larvae. CL🍀 :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:
These are aphids aren't they? @Vegan4life @Buds Buddy I don't use "natural" remedies. They're pretty ineffective and you have to apply them constantly.

I'd rather use stuff like mineral oil or deltamethrin which will do a much better job and doesn't need to be used as often....

Without a magnified picture it’s really hard to tell but Safers End All will get rid of the problem. It’s safe to use and it kills all 3 stages of pests. CL🍀

I almost jumped off my couch bro! Nuke those bastards like the captain is saying!

I would stay away from spraying with any type of oil in flowering stage... Stay with soaps and water

Yes, aphids.

At the very least spray them down with water daily to reduce the population. You're so close to harvest it would be a shame to lose it to bugs.
Oh no, the ones infested are in veg and far away from harvest, i sprayed with a lot of mineral oil, gonna see if it'll take care of the issue like it usually does, if it doesn't I'm gonna use deltamethrin

Mineral oil has been used for half a century and is allowed in biological agriculture?

I wash my buds anyways, btw the heavily infested plant is in veg, the one in flower doesn't really have any of those bug

The trichomes on the flowers are oil soluble, if you spray them with a oil you could F them up... Even if you mix with water and a emulsifier, the oil could dilute the trichomes... Can also affect the flavor of the buds

I can say that in my experience this wasn't the case, I didn't notice any difference in flavor or potency, i do however stop spraying anything 2-4 weeks before harvest.

Just my 2 cents, Your plant your choice...

So far I have not found any reference other than anecdotal that the oils will dissolve the trichomes at room temperatures.

Otherwise why do we have to maintain temperatures of 170 to 200 F in the oven to not only decarb Cannabis for butters, etc but to also extract the THC and/or CBD from the flowers? Or leave the flowers and the butter or oil in a slow cooker at a low setting which is usually 170 to 225 instead of putting the oil & flowers in a bowl on the kitchen counter at room temperature for the same amount of time?

Even longer than that. Orchard owners, florists, landscapers, and tree specialists have been using dormant oil sprays since the mid to late 1800s.

Though, the problem they ran into was when they used the dormant oil sprays and then within a few weeks started spraying the same trees and shrubs with the sulfur sprays for molds, mildews and insects, especially if the plants had already started to bud out.

Bud washing is not a bad thing at all. Is your method similar to the one that comes up here?

I cropped the third photo in your first message and put in the arrows pointing to what looks like insects, insect eggs and possibly insect frass. Isn't that one of the photos of your plant in flower?
