Is moving seedlings around bad for the seedlings?

I move the seedlings into my van at nights because its about 4 C warmer than outside, then in the mornings I move them outside to a sunny spot 100 metres away, I've been doing this the last few days. My question is when I move them around like this does it have any negative effects?

The only thing I can think of would be inconsistent light period, i.e., as long as they’re moved in and out at a consistent time it shouldn’t be a problem. But if one day they come in at 5 pm and go out at 700am, then the next day they come in at 5pm and go out at 900am, then you could have an issue. Simply moving them, no problem.

I admire your dedication, I will tell you the best I ever did was a run that was me flicking the switch on and off everyday, I was super close to lapsing a few times however the most shocking times was lights on time when I couldn't get there immediately and in my mind it was lights off time 🤣 lights on a little late fine, off late not so much. I hope you will post photos soon, keep up the good work new friend, and have a great day

Ah I didn't think of that. I have been doing that but only because I go to work at a certain time so they go out at a certain time, they come in when they no longer get any direct sunlight. I'll make sure I keep it consistent during the weekend.

With artificial lighting do you mean? if so, no.
Once your plant is sexually mature around the fifth node or so when the nodes start alternating rather than being opposite, it will want to flower if the dark hours are more than 10.5 hours or so. So most growers use artificial light to minimize those dark hours to keep a photo period in veg mode until it gets bigger.

If you don't it will flower at a young age when the plant is small and therefore lead to a small harvest.

With an auto light hours don't matter in terms of when it flowers but if given less than 18 hours or so of light it too will be a small plant with a small harvest. Light intensity matter here too since with a strong light the plant will get bigger than a plant with the same hours of lesser ntensity light.

The only thing I would be careful of is not squeezing or squashing the root ball in those little peat things you have your seedlings in. Of course be careful of dropping them but even then they should survive if replanted back into a decent potting mix within 10-15 minutes.

The difference in the time when you remove them from or put them back in the van should have little effect on them at this stage of growth. As far as I can figure the plants will react the same way as they do when it is a heavy overcast sky in the early morning or early evening. They do just fine in either case.

That's a good idea to minimize dark hours.

That's a good point, in the van they ain't getting any sun but it ain't dark either, so I suppose they would react the same way as if it was heavily overcast.
