The buds look frosted, the calyx are all swollen. I only have pistils on the top, I think a couple more days. I fought spider mites throughout my grow and don’t wanna spray again before I harvest, opinions guys

I had a branch come off last week, I hung the buds to dry after washing it. I put it in a mason jar today and it actually smells awesome, I was surprised. I think I’ll be happy with this as it is , hey I never thought I was even gonna have a harvest

Looks like a lot of candy sittin' there, can't say about readiness tho since it is purple. Do what you think is right, and if you dislike the end result you can just do it different next time.

Sorry brother how bout now

Sueet beat me to it - I was squintin at the purple trying to tell. Those look to me to be dead on in the harvest window. I would say you’ve got +- a week to choose but since ones in the jar, why would you leave her lonely lol
Thank you, my first gro I didn’t wanna harvest too early , this took 6 months. I’m chopping her this week

I’m laughing if sueet hadn’t said that I wouldn’t have seen the trichomes turning amber , first gro stupidity, everything looked white under the gro lite.First gro is shortly to be in the mason jars, thank you guys

I’ve watched you fighting the borg - you DESERVE this harvest! Whenever I have one like this, I grow a nice 2 month indica afterwards and go on autopilot. After a four-month flower it will feel like you’re cheating on your first grow
Isn’t that the truth, first gro was definitely a battle

This is just the opinion of a newbie- so completely disregard all of this. So far, ripeness is a matter of balance. And I mean inside of you, lol. Don’t get impatient, by Zeus. You want to believe it’s ready, and then it would’ve been a travesty if you actually had taken them down then . I learned the impatient idiot way a couple times. That being said, these are plants. They are always working, but not moving at warp speed. I’ve noticed that it you just check ‘em 1X a day, 2X if you are me, you’ll know. Just remember things are moving a lot slower than your desire for purple urkle. Wait til they are cloudy, with a punch, not a pinch, of amber. Examine the BUDS not the leaves around them.

I didn’t think they were ready till I put a white lite on them, their already amber. Hey after the spider mite war I waged I’m just happy I got to harvest.

I figured you would. As for the mites, you learned a lot about your enemy and how to fight it. Like I mentioned several weeks ago, know your enemy.

And yes, use white light to check the trichomes. I also feel that the white light is also a must when inspecting for insects. The plant will grow well under the purple but our human eyes just are not made for seeing properly without sunlight or a quality white light. I figure that under purple it is real easy to miss seeing the mite damage and the mites themselves.
