InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Nice update Shed, it’s good to have you back my friend!
Thanks double H! It's nice to be back, but trying to find out what I've missed is crazy
Hey Shed. What does the temp drop to at night during the winter months where you are?
Love the pic of the mother line up. Reminds me of "The Usual Suspects"
Nighttime lows are in the mid-50s now (~13ºC) but in January can get down to the high 40s (~9ºC). That's why I won't be flipping anything until at least the end of February this time...gotta have the lights on at night for warmth!

Just heard from the Dr's office and they said unless it hurts, they'll just see me Thursday morning for post-op follow-up.

We'll see.

Back to cannabis...

I made more Candida oil, this time with buds from the recent harvests. I started with 73 grams total, half from each plant:

And decarbed it in a turkey bag:

Not completely smell-proof, but better than the foil pouch in terms of odor. Not that it matters in my house ;).

A friend came over so I got distracted and forgot to weigh post decarb, but I figure it didn't lose as much as usual because it was around 45% RH in there to start. If I figure 65 grams and 3 cups of EVOO, I end up at 11.69mg/ml CBD.

In the MB2, I ran it at 160º for 8 hours on Sunday, let it cool over night, and ran another 8 hours at 160º yesterday. Then I forgot to take it this morning! I'm not yet used to my morning routines after the week off, but at least I remembered to shower! :thumb:

Thanks shed I am not near the point of making oil or butter right now but your description of what you do in the Magic Butter Machine will help when I do. I want to make some THC and CBD caps and if I get enough Super Critical Bud CBD I will make some of that it has both. The SCB CBD says it has 23% THC and 21% CBD so I am really looking forward to that one. I will do the Candida like you suggested in the spring in the greenhouse I also got some Sweet tooth to try this spring

I mentioned this before but I have serious doubts they can pack 44% cannabinoid content into a plant! Either way, it's still just 1:1 :). And I can get 1:1 combining Candida and any other of the many THC strains I have in jars.
For your oil, why do you run it for 8 hours (x2)? I only ask because the MB machine setting is for just 1 hour.
I think the machine has 1, 2, 4, and 8 hour settings. I don't believe that short settings maximize the amount of cannabinoids you get from your buds, and over in the oil thread, many folks found not only that longer times were better, but longer times with a cool-down in between was even more productive.

I only run butter shorter (4 hours) because it seems like it begins to change flavor when heated over long periods.

I am now very skeptical of what the breeders claim. I just sent some flower to be lab tested. The breeder claims up to 15% CBD and 8% THC. The lab results came back with 7.6% THC and ZERO CBD!

...do you know of anyone who has had Candida tested?...cheerz...
Me! I had my oil tested. I used Oldbear's spreadsheet and used 15% CBD and 1% THC for my numbers, and the spreadsheet gave me around 11mg/ml CBD and less than .5mg/ml THC for the oil. Lab test came back at 10.56mg/ml, so damn close. My oil was a blend of two plants.

Not to defend breeders, but phenotypic variation is real. See: Best fairly rare hybrid strain?

To be sure, I didn't get those 2 distinctly phenos tested, but after 45+ of smoking weed, I am a pretty good tester (as Gil Scott-Heron once noted "May sound crazy, but I'm the closest thing I've got to a voice of reason.")

Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

That shaggy pheno is a beauty SnB!

One of the reasons I keep touting the Candida over other CBD strains and crosses is that the folks at MMG have gotten it very stable. No hype, just consistent results. Even though mine are grown outside in SoCal, they look similar enough to ones grown inside and outside across the globe to know that you will end up with 15-20% CBD and almost no THC. And blending with THC buds makes any ratio possible and doesn't constrain you to a single type of ratio. You can blend Candida with a sativa, a hybrid, or an indica, and make any meds you need.
