They've banned plastic straws here, so I hope you have a reusable metal one!

Are you speaking specifically to FFOF or to all soil or soil-less media? Dirt is a bit generic as a word in this context. Soil will probably have an existing microbe family, where soil-less doesn't. And if we're using synthetic nutes like MegaCrop, the microbes are not significant to the grow.

That would be true for any grow using synthetic nutes. Synthetic nute users aren't concerned about the microbes. But soil and soil-less growers don't need to be concerned about pH of the nutes, where hydro growers do.both. Any system that fills the media with available nutes is reformulating the soil chemistry and diminishes the microbe's ability to influence that chemistry and is achieving the about same result as hydro in terms of feeding the plants.
The sea-life thanks you.I re-use the same one year in and out.
High praise otter!IIP is a brute! She's beautiful Shed. Her friend too. Nice work. I'd bet on you as well!
Not yet. maybe soon though. That would be true for any grow using synthetic nutes. Synthetic nute users aren't concerned about the microbes.

I've heard folk i trust give FFOF high praise and that it can be used with AACT's like one we made ourselves.Damn, I did not know FFOF had that much all packed in there. I bet it would make a great base to cut some generic soil with. Great ingredients from what my studies suggest. People refer to Doc's brix kit as soil too despite it being peat based. They do add an amendment that has some rocks and limestone, plus a few salts and all that mixed with 30lbs of EWC to cook for 30 days and that is then soil. I'm not saying it is or it isn't, I'm still trying to learn the difference too.
The only downside I've ever heard on FFOF is that it can be too hot for seedlings, and those using synthetic nutes have to watch out for N toxicity.I've heard folk i trust give FFOF high praise and that it can be used with AACT's like one we made ourselves.
Thanks Dutch! IIP really wants to be in the ground. Oh well! It's gonna get schlepped no matter what .Beautiful plants Shed! IIP is a big ol girl and filling out nicely!
Thanks DD . The colas on the Berry Bomb are absolutely solid. And I have no more drying boxes so it looks like the Bedroom Cookies is going to have to get bumped off the strings.Fridays are generally pretty good anyway, but you have a great one coming up.
Will try to keep a lookout for the photos, Shed.
I worked with a salty old Senior Chief who refused to use a straw.... like, ever! They've banned plastic straws here, so I hope you have a reusable metal one!
I can't speak to autoflowers but every photo I've started in FFOF has been great. I germ right in it.The only downside I've ever heard on FFOF is that it can be too hot for seedlings,
I do it all the time. This is my CG #4 at day 13. I've heard the same but I believe it's other issues, like overwatering and they think it's the FFOF.The only downside I've ever heard on FFOF is that it can be too hot for seedlings, and those using synthetic nutes have to watch out for N toxicity.
