InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Highya ITS,

I hope you had a nice and thankful Thanksgiving day with your family!

Thanks Bode! You think Earth Alive Soil Activator would be useful in peat? They don't mention peat anywhere.
The microbes are for breaking down nutrients in soil, or whatever medium the plants grow in. If the nutrients you feed are already in a form the roots will use, then no need for microbes. I use compost so everything in the soil needs the microbes to feed the roots. It's easy to make your own. Easier to buy, I will admit. Happy Smokin'

Happy belated Thanksgiving @InTheShed. I'm hopping in here for the ride if that is ok! Its been a while so I will likely skim catch up out of curiosity and see whats been in the shed these days. I hope all is well!!!

Happy Black Friday update all! I hope your Thanksgiving/Thursday went off without a hitch and everyone got to see folks they enjoy spending time with.

The Santa Ana's have been hanging around and the RH is under 20% outside, so I've been keeping everything well watered. The flowering two have been bumped up to 160ppm of N (120 nitrate+40 ammoniacal), which puts me at 160-33-178. I would call it 6.2g equivalent, but I'm no longer in line with the MC numbers.

Enough blather, here is the Jack Herer after the post-stretch thinning (flip day 26):

I'm not posting before/after pics because you can't really tell the difference, but here is what I took off:

And I found two leaves with these attached:

I put them in a ziploc to see what comes out!

I also thinned the Sour G (also flip 26):

This is what came off:

More for the overflowing salve bin!

Remember the cuttings that I left uncovered overnight and looked sad in the morning? Well the Sour G cuttings never made it, but two of the Candidas pulled through and have roots:

Here they are getting accustomed to full sun:

And last for the day, Doug's Varin on day 25:

That's it for me today! I hope you didn't get trampled trying to get presents on sale this morning.

Thanks Bode! Other than the food it was a nice evening outside in my cousin's redone backyard. And we were not the only folks at the Jack-in-the-Box drive through at 10:45 last night. :) I hope yours went better than expected!

Oh thanks for that info! I got these bags from my GJOTM win last year but never knew what to do with them. I guess I'll save them for someone who's growing organically.

:ciao: MG, and you are welcome to drop by whenever you have a spare moment. There's always something going one here!

The citric acid spray is a 1% concentration, so 500ml (which is 500g) of distilled water gets 5g of food grade citric acid and 4 pipette drops of dish washing liquid. Scale up or down as needed, but I find that my full grown plants take almost 1500ml (and 15g and 12 drops) to spray every nook and cranny where the PM hides.
Hey shed, Mr. S sent me your way on PM that has popped up in the last weeks of flower. Just wanted to make sure if this is fine to use in flower or not thanks.

Howdy Dragoond2 and welcome to my perpetual journal! The 1% citric acid spray for PM is absolutely safe in flower as long as you do it at lights out. Getting pistils wet with anything and then hitting them with our lights can brown them.

Wow, Shed. That Jack is amazing. What size pot is that? And what are those, bug eggs of some sort? Ew....now I gotta' start looking for that crap on my outdoor plants. I never even thought of that till I saw that disgusting picture. Lol. Thanks for that. I assume if I were to find such a thing I should remove the leaf, correct? I would anyway. The DV's are real sweet too. I never heard of that strain til I saw your journal. Any history to you having that worthy of note? Or is it readily available? Thanks. Sorry you're feeling poorly. Get your ass better.
