InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Thursday greetings and it's time for an update.

I decided to go with the oil-filled heater in the shed, so I picked one up from Home Depot on Tuesday night and tested it in the house to see how hot it got and how far away stuff had to be to prevent burning. And last night I put it in the shed with distance from the Oval of Brightness® and the top fan pointing directly down at it.

This is what it looked like this morning:

I'll do a better job of covering the power light when I get home. I did this one in dark last night!

Funny...it says "do not cover." :cheesygrinsmiley:

And here is the temperature range:

75º F when it's on and 63º when it's off. I can definitely live with that. I may plug it into the Kill-a-watt tonight to see what it's using during the night.

In other news, the old Candida cuttings in perlite were all dead so I tossed them and bleached the perlite, but the Jack Herer I cut 12 days ago are looking pretty good:

I'll plant the one with the most roots this weekend and let the other two go another week.

Finally, let's look at the next two going into flower. Here are the Jack Herer and Sour G 1.1 clone:

The Sour G was actually taller than the JH, so I supercropped it before that pic:

I should get at least 3 additional tops from that bend!

That's it from me today, and stay tuned for trichome Friday tomorrow, when we get to look at pics of the Summer grow (coming down this weekend). Stay safe! :peace:

Looks great although I think you should put 3 more pieces of tape on the light...orange tape maybe...or green?

Orange I've got. Great idea Krissi!
:ciao: double H! Nice to have you stop by. :hugs:
I’m a bit behind here. Will the JH and Sour G continue outdoors through flower? And how much grow space do you have in the shed? I‘m getting curious about your winter down there.
Hey Nev! All my plants live outdoors all day all year, except for the really chilly sunless days (or when it's raining). And every night all my plants move inside for either 12 hours of dark or additional light (depending on if I've flipped them or not).

You can see the shed grow space in the my post above with the heater. That light is a home made 360w 2x4 (Samsung strips/MW driver...you can see the build here and the light in action here), and the Oval is about 2½'x7 counting the heater. I also have a 2x4 tent in the house with a MarsHydro SP250 in it.

Hope that helps!

You are certainly the handy one. I hope your boo boo has gotten better over time

Funny...it says "do not cover." :cheesygrinsmiley:
You probably pulled the tags off your mattresses before they arrived too.
I decided to go with the oil-filled heater
They are nice heaters. Takes a while to book a slot for an oil change, but it's worth the 50.00 each time to keep it running smooth.

Heater looks good, CB looks good, Sour G. looks.....nevermind...
Finally, let's look at the next two going into flower.
Beautiful!- that Sour G 1.1 is growing great for an untrained plant- lots of branches on that one!

... but seriously, would that tiny light affect the plants? Why cover it, Shed?... am I being dumb?
bleached the perlite,
How, and is this for re-use? Isn't the bleaching agent toxic to cuttings?

can't wait for trippy Trichome Friday!

PS looking good : )

Yes, thanks Krissi. All better now!

I don't! And had it not been total darkness and I had read that before, I never would have done such a thing. Unless of course they mean the gap above the light. :hmmmm:

They really are! And definitely worth it to keep the check engine light from ever coming on.

Thank you Carcass! And oh wait...nevermind :)

It's gonna be a Christmas tree!
Thank you Mbuna, and :welcome: to my perpetual grow journal! Stick around and enjoy. :thumb:

I'm sure that at this stage of the game it would have no effect, though it's best to have no light at all. Most plants will get used to a constant low level light and flower normally though. I think @Smeegol never had trouble with streetlights down the block from his outdoor SA grow.

I wanted to make sure that there were no cooties in there that might have kept the Candidas from rooting, but I rinsed it and will let it completely out-gas before using it again.

Thanks!

JH for the win! She's a beaut. And I'm certain the Sour G will give you no problems whatsoever, having witnessed how you treated her sister! :ganjamon:

I actually tried your supercropping method a little bit on my plants this year. Gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by the results, though I shouldn't have been surprised. :thanks:

The Jack Herer shape is really nice, but you should tell your family to wait until harvest before they try to smoke it. ;)

Quick question.

Instead of getting a oil change with the new heater. Would you consider changing to re-re distilled Everclear, or Terpinator?

Thanks for your time.
