InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Just set them out on paper in a warm closet for days until they’re bone dry. When they’re completely dry, pick the nanners off one by one with tweezers into a folded up plastic business card or old debit card. Holding the card with your index finger and thumb tap on the side of the card with a paintbrush Handle or chopstick... eventually you should see the pollen start to pile up. at which point you can remove the nanners, tilt the card into a vial and tap on it until it all falls in
Oh, so don't sieve them as they come off the plant then? I was thinking it was necessary to separate the plant material from the pollen asap to keep the moisture from rendering it unusable. I'm in a pretty damp environment with RH never below 60%.
That’s exactly how I collected that CnC pollen you saw
:thanks: for your help Chef!

I would make sure then, that the ambient temp is high. That Will drive down the rH. You’re not drying buds so it doesn’t have to be done slowly. I understand why you’d think that, but you need to get that plant matter as dry as possible before you try to get the pollen out. The brittleness makes the pollen come out much more efficiently, it prevents you from ruining the pollen you’ve start to collect by accidentally mashing moist plant matter into it.

I am getting pollen sacs all over.
Not sure if you read my posts a while back about using Hydrobuddy software to mix nutrients to hit specific targets/ratios for feeding plants.
Yes, I remember that discussion now. Thanks for the reminder.
Nah, you just dump all those into the bowl trimmer and wave your magic wand. Poooof! Trimmed and ready to go.
It is almost that easy. :laughtwo: And now that I figured out I can remove the kief (using the dry ice method) from the leftover trimmings in the bottom of the bowl, I can be less careful about pre-trimming the buds to remove some of the none frosty leaves.

Here is a Thursday update of the Summer grow so you can see the changes (or nah) since I upcanned them last Saturday!

First off, here are the three of them this morning on day 65/66. Please note that these are in 3 gallon GeoPots, for scale:

The Sour G is growing like a regular plant, which means the top two nodes were long enough to get tied flat:

Here is the Chiquita Banana, which continues to improve on its performance from even before the transplant. The new lower and top growth are plant-green and doing well:

And finally, here is the still-sad Jack Herer:

Though the top leaves are greener, and there is some new stuff happening down at the bottom:

So let's see if it will start to take off once it gets its feet under it.

In other news, it was time to make another batch of CBD oil (in EVOO - Extra Virgin Olive Oil):

This is after 8 hours at 160ºF in the Magical Butter Machine. I'll let it cool all day and then do another 8 hours tonight. (If you buy one - and I recommend it for oil - I'd say skip the recipe booklet that comes with the machine and ask for help from the folks that use it all the time for meds here on the site!)

Tomorrow morning I'll strain it, jar it, and stick it in the fridge.

My wife came up with the idea for a CBD oil starter kit, which comes with a three month supply of my oil, a bag of capsules, a capsule tray, and a syringe for filling your own. Maybe even include a tube of salve! If folks like it I might have to grow some more Candida. :)

I hope your week is going well, and that the weekend feels so close you can almost taste it! :high-five:

That dry ice hash looked easy peasy, as does trimming with that bowl. If someone got me that for a present I get the feeling that I would still be #nolarf though!

Here's a comment for you Shed!

What @MrSauga so astutely alluded to regarding Mrs.Shed, I've known for quite a while now, you lucky guy.

And, the JH is now officially not only a plant rescue but a mission of mercy. Please keep that in mind. :Rasta:

Thank you GDB! I know how lucky I am, and l am lucky enough to be smart enough to let her know that I know. :)

I am also doing my damnedest by the JH, mostly by leaving it alone (for now)!

This must be your smallest Summer grow in quite a while. Sour G is looking good. Hoping the other two continue to improve.

I hope to try mine out one of these days soon. I'll probably start with butter, and I'll be sure to ask advice when the time comes. :thanks:
