InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Forgot to mention the emerald coloring. That to me seems like you hit a good spot for feeding. The newer growth comes in lighter at the beginning then turns a deeper green as it grows out. You can pretty much see when the plant starting enjoying a stronger feed.
Nicely done.

:ciao: I am using Osmocote+ in my grow, and my plant seems quite happy with it. Of course, I'm a noob to cannabis growing so my personal experience doesn't count for much. However, my use of OC+ in the first place was based on the experience and findings of Doc Bud, among others. Granted, the original thread that led me down this path was started waaaayyyy back in 2010, and things may have changed since then, I've also read other threads and journals, both here and on other sites as recent as 2018, where others have use it with success.

Still "catching up" as it were, on page 1240 atm. And no use telling me to just jump ahead to the last page... I already jumped from pg 200 to pg 1000 and the completionist part of me is still not happy about that... Lol I'll be there soon! :surf:

I believe @Tokin Roll is using one right now.
Thanks GDB i spent yesterday reading on his thread ( in my reading time ) and it appears he is only using the light in Veg. . But that's a start :meatballs: Let me slip over to your thread and see how things are growing !! Shed thanks for letting me ask about the lights , Plants are looking stellar as usually :goodjob:

Sorry for the mini-updates but I know you folks like to see pics, so I am trying to drop some most days (along with info) so I have a record of what I did when!

Today we can see that we finally have some Red Dragon clone roots, one of which just went straight out the bottom (from May 16):

And really taking its time is one from April 25!

So all the clones now get some hardening off, since more light encourages more roots.

Speaking of roots, I promised pics of the Jack Herer and Chiquita Banana roots today and I know you are all clamoring for those, so here they are. Do I transplant them as well into 75/25 soil/perlite and top this weekend?

Here is the CB (day 59), still in the original 50/50 mix like the Sour G:

And here are the roots on the little JH (day 60):

Upcan them and see if it spurs new green growth? Also, I'm thinking of going back to nutes for all of the Summer grow.

No visible pollen on the Candida STS yet, but I did shake it over the other two this morning and left them all in the tent, Justin Case.

Could be a busy weekend with the post-stretch clean-up and the transplanting, but I'll wait to hear from y'all on that part.

:ciao:

High praise indeed from the Gurkhan of Green! :thanks:

Hi DA7 and :welcome: to my ever-growing perpetual journal! Thanks for taking the leap of faith and jumping in (like it says in the title), though catching up more than a few pages is just crazy.

I have recommended OC+ to folks I give clones to that don't want to go the nute rute, based on the same history from Doc, so we are on the same page there. :high-five: The only thing I can think of is that a bit more potassium in flower might be helpful if there is any handy in the cupboard. Doc has obviously moved on to other things, but I think the advice still stands.

Oof, not a good thread for a completionist, that's for sure! Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind, either about my growing or anything else grow-related. The folks who stop by here are full of it good information, and if we can't answer a question we can point you to someone who can. Like Grand Daddy Black just did for smokesbetter.

No trouble at all sb — I hope it's part of the reason we all gather here! It can't just be for my wit. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Shed, I have no basis for judging 59-day old roots since I don't think I've ever looked at them at that age. So I'm in no position to offer advice based on past experience.

But (and here comes the stretch) I'm going to offer my 2 cents worth anyway, just based on what my gut says.

The 50/50 mix seemed like too much perlite to me. Those roots look like water ran through kinda' quickly and mostly settled down low. I'd re-pot them into straight soil and see what happens. Water should still rush through the main root ball but at least it can settle a bit when it gets out of the perlite ball and give the roots something to chase.

Nute em for science?
For health! After seeing my Tin Can Kush lose all its lowers on the GF veg (done per instructions), I like the way the nutes are working mo' better.

I've seen roots at 59 days and they look much better! And I bet yours do to having seen what they look like topside. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Your gut is excellent. Have you seen your grow?

That's a great observation GDB and it makes perfect sense! I don't think I can go with straight soil since this stuff is really dense with very little perlite to start, but the consensus seems to be 75/25 is a good mix.

I may try to free up some of the CB roots to get more soil in the original ball in the hopes it will slow down the drainage. Thanks!
Well, doesn't that just figure? I'm super happy and excited for NC, but since I'll be moving in about 2 weeks to a different non legal state, not much benefit to me.
I guess you'll have to grow on the down low until your new state comes around. :goodluck: with the move!

Highya ITS,

Roots seem to grow best when the soil is like potting soil. Plants need the soil to catch the nutes and hold them while the microbes are looking for them. I'd use whatever you have handy for soil, 25% perlite, then feed with your best nutrient grow method. What works for you.

Congrats on the Red Dragon clone roots! Surprising they'll stay viable to grow roots!. Good job with your method and patience! Happy Smokin'

Thanks Bode! It never occurred to me that there wouldn't be enough soil for the roots to grab the nutes from. :hmmmm: This is why I was so much better off in ProMix HP. They did the thinking for me. :)

I've stunted these for now but I hope that once they get used to the new stuff they can recover and grow like weeds again! Looks like it's going to be transplant weekend. I hope I have 3 gallon GeoPots on hand...

Aaaaannnnd all caught up!! :yahoo::cheer::reading420magazine: Man, that was a read, but WELL worth it, imho. Lots of great info, funny banter, and beautiful plants!

Oh, and Dawn is just fine. :battingeyelashes: This account is actually my 2nd on 420Mag, having lost the login info for my original... or so I thought until my new PC somehow logged in to the old one and I didn't notice until a few posts later. :hmmmm: So if any if you see posts from DawnStar7, that is also me... lol

Alright, alright, I'll sit in. Sheesh. So much pressure. I'm going to have to go sit in the back corner to do some back reading. Hope that's okay. I'll try to be quiet. But, you know, that's hard for me.

Dawn it is, and if you had to put yourself through all that I'm really glad you enjoyed the read!

LOL, no pressure to sub here at all! But as long as you are here... :welcome: . Skip the back reading (unless you're a completionist like some people :battingeyelashes: ) and just ask questions about anything you want to know. I don't mind answering things more than once. How do you think this got to 1292 pages? ;)

Speaking of questions, I do have one or two... lol. Have any of the more seasoned growers here ever had an auto go 50 days without showing signs of pre flower? :hmmmm: I have an "auto" WW x BB that is on day 49, and no sign of flower action yet. I'm seriously thinking it's not, and regretting buying from a place I didn't thoroughly research first. After reading a few journals and looking around here, this not so supreme seed bank has a reputation for messed up orders, iffy genetics, and not great customer service.

So, I did little more digging, and bought some other seeds from a different provider that I remembered being a sponsor here at one point. Not sure if they still are and not sure how to find out so no names, but they are NOT the seed man Goody has a stash from. My next question is in regards to what seed I should drop for my next grow? My choices (all autos) are as follows:

1. BCN Critical XXL
2. Gorilla Glue
3. Blackberry Gum
4. Northern Lights

Any and all suggestions are welcome! :thanks::adore:

It has happened but it's not often. I'd wait another week and then flip it if you can.

Do you have a preference for indica over sativa/hybrid? NL and BG are indicas while GG and BCN are hybrids.

Thanks! I was considering flipping her tomorrow, but another week won't but anything.

As for preference, I tend to lean mostly indica, though hybrids are fine. I avoid most sativa unless I'm sure they won't cause issues with my anxiety and panic disorder, though some like DP and Bruce Banner I've used with no issues. Honestly, I'd be interested in finding more sativas and sativa leaning hybrids for daytime use, if anyone has suggestions that meet the above requirements. The majority of my use is for a plethora of medical issues, so I'd love to find strains that could address most if not all of my issues.

My Dark Devil Auto was at around 55 days when she finally started her transition to flower.
You can always help her along by changing the lighting. Anything past 55-60 days and you may have to anyway. At that point I'd wonder if it isn't a photoperiod or fast photo?
